I have a Global Safety Belt of Michael Jackson’s, from when He was with Jackson Five. It has Signature, S-42, and date 7-9-69. on the back. I purchased it around 1996 at a estate auction and would like to get estimate of value, as I would like to sale it.

I had it authenticated by James J. Spence Authentication’s and have pictures of it that I will try to upload.

I have posted images now, sorry I'm so slow this is my first time to do this. Thanks, Tom

I'm sorry, but that doesn't look legit to me. Just my opinion, so I hope others with more expertise will chime in for you.

It's hard to authenticate, since if's signed on fabric, but that's not how he signed in 1969. He was only 11 then. That signatures style started in the early 1980s. Post the authentication certificate please.

When I bought it it was for the size, I thought the S-42 was the size, I had hurt my back at that time and needed one. When I got home and tried it on it was to small, it turned out to be a small size 24 to 3I inch, I do not know what S-42 means, so I put it in a box in the basement and forgot about it.

About Three years back we were thanking about moving and started going thru boxes in the basement and came across it again, my Son told me hang on to it and have it checked out, because sense He was found not guilty of involvement with children inappropriately and after His death, all his personal things have become valuable. I don't thank anyone would forge his signature then.

It's a recent JSA LOA, so Roger Epperson probably looked at it. I'm sure he'll be happy to explain his opinion.

Agreed, Steve. It's a 90's signature style, yet signed in 1969? Further, it would seem that the numbers below the sign were done in the same marker/hand and I don't see why Michael would have done that. To be sure, this sig style looks like a lot of "new" questionable MJ's I'm seeing on Ebay currently. And I look every day :)

I'm not saying the signature is bad, I'm saying it's not 1969. It could have been dated that for a reason we don't know (and I don't know if that's MJ's writing on the numerals).

It looks good for early 80s, but it's signed on fabric, so it's hard for me to tell.

Fair enough! I'm interested to hear Roger's thoughts.

And finally, that belt looks way too big for an adult Michael, let alone a child.

The belt is small size 24 to 30 in. the S-42 is for something else I dont know what..

Well, I hope for your sake it is indeed real! I could be in over my head on this one. That sig just doesn't look like the ones I've come to recognize as authentic. Good luck!
