Garry King is well liked by some but I see a big problem with some of the items I see on his site.  I'm not referring to Kenny Baker and other small bits but rather the large $$ music items.

Dealers in the UK might not be aware of current music item that they offer for sale.  In another thread several autographs from Autografica were deemed fake.  The items were Clint Eastwood, Charlton Heston and Harrison Ford.

He might not know there is a problem.

Yes steve true mate But I also said I speculated the date I was hopping it will be over but both yesterday and tomorrow are in talks so hopefully by friday guys.

Jason,

DB didn't realize you had mentioned lawyers and the court here and Paul didn't think it was likely a court was involved, so I reposted your reply to show them why I was pursuing that direction. I wasn't complaining about the date.

I believe I posted the statement from the alledged AFTAL commentor attributed it to the AFTAL lawyer sometime back so was aware of alledged solictor/barrister involvement (or the claim there was)

but nowhere I have seen any mention of sworn statements being required from Adrian or a definitive statement that Adrian had retained a lawyer for that matter.

What Jason said was "Aftal will make a statement as they are waiting on their lawyers to do so..."   Jason, how are you aware the courts of justice are actually involved since your not an AFTAL member or is this 2nd hand information?

Jason is an AFTAL member.

Hi db yes mate i am an aftal member but not a board member thank god , And the reason I know is cause I hear snippets of info but not made up info its realible the only thing I messed up like i said its the monday or tuesday I actually thought this would have been done and dusted but its taking them a while.

Also the reason is not a single aftal board member or even adrian leave in the capital its manchester, birmingham , essex surrey etc so its a while.

Look if friday comes and nothing happens dont shoot me lol .

But I have spoken to board members that said their are trying their best to solve this situation, their are not ignoring this as this is not something that you can ignore. Am just shocked that this is not stopping lol FRIDAY guys

must be a smart one as there is no reference to it on his website nor is he listed as a dealer on the website presuming it's uptodate and I didn't miss it and presumably not a board member that has a tight lip on any information except to advise everyone not to speak on the subject (which doesn't seem to be completely working).

Nonetheless, can you point where this information came from? but nowhere I have seen any mention of sworn statements being required from Adrian or a definitive statement that Adrian had retained a lawyer for that matter.

Isn't Markus Brandes an AFTAL dealer?  I wonder what he must think of these MJs.

DB You are right you know what funny story mate , I was asked to join by a mate who then was on the board he said jason join us as we will need your help at the time I was selling like maybe 1 autograph a week if that on ebay I used ebay as advertisement but did not want to fall in the ebayer gang lol as all the fakes seem to go on there and from there to the whole world.

So when I joined some one made a complaint Jason should not be allowed to be on AFTAL as he does not have a website . So i decided to buy a crappy little site and start building it , and so I did , so when I finally got it up and running I asked that my ebay name be taken out and please put my now website .

I was told I could not be allowed that Unless I paid a fee it was like 80 bucks , I said are you having a giraffe , And i left it at that , So now I thank AFTAL for that as my website is not on there but just my ebay ID LOL

now that is funny...  $80.00 no less.   Although now that you let the cat out of the bag they are going to change it and send you a bill for $80.00.  I wonder what the fee covers?

In the UACC they have members and dealers.  dealers are put thru the "wringer" while members is just for the $$ (although some members have tried to leverage this with the items they sell on ebay - so much so., UACC just published a quantification on the subject) and on occassion one might receive a pen & quill.  Although now that you mentioned it  I don't know how board members or for that matter how directors are nominated or elected either.

Its an administration fee

Like my fetta cheese eating Greek mate - I too do not advertise on my Site that I am an AFTAL Dealer. At first my thinking was ' why should I point all the customers I have built up over the past 16 years as a full time dealer in the direction of another 109 ? ' Now I still feel that the reputation I have built up over the past 30 years as a seller doesn't need any further medals and rosettes.

If some one saw a photo of the 2 of us its you that they will think eats all the feta not me

youre right steve , i do not think a court is involved, the only reason why lawyers are involved are that people are trying to cover their own backs or they want the pieces to be placed in front of a judge and have them deemed authentic by the court of law to which until evidence is provided by the opposing side in front of a judge then that is what they pieces will end up being.

im only seeing it from a logical point of view where courts and lawyers are to be used. It would not surprise me if AFTAL are going to dismiss anyone opinions on here as they dont see anyone on here being qualified to prove them wrong. Unfortunately there is no one ove rin the uk to challenge AFTAL, like PSA has rivals in the usa, in the UK , AFTAL are the be all and end all of autographs, there is no alternative.
