On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

I'm sorry but he must be mistaken.
There are not two Indian Tunics...it is not possible.

IMHO Anything short of MJ really signing these 'Bush Autos' is possible! LOL

Now that's funny, Brian. And true.

Thank you Steve! : )

Steve, so he is essentially saying that the victory jumpsuit is a different jumpsuit because only the western shirt and sequin pants were repeat items in the Julien sale.
Right?

Yes, Sandy, and they have different wear areas to me. Ed has handled a number of major touring music stars, and he said they generally have at least 3 of every outfit.

Ah. Back then to who consigned these. Touring outfits are one thing, however imo only way there could be more than one of those Indian tunics is if someone recently replicated it.

Bush is a sewing man by trade, isn't he?

Are you talking about the Victory Tour jumpsuit when you say Indian tunics?

Hi Steve,

No I mean this one:

That's what I thought Sandy was referring to as the Indian tunic.  I actually was unable to open Julien's links that were listed here.  But that is the only Indian tunic I've ever seen Michael wear, well other than the long black tunic he worn to the 1999 Bollywood Awards. Can't find a full photo of that - here's the top of it:

Anyway, it's about the forgeries now.  Like you said, stick with what can (and has) been proven.

I just found the link to Gotta Have It's auction and it is the cream-white tunic from the Bad era.  I'm in no way stating anything regarding Ed's knowledge of any possible reproductions on the part of MLB.  The provenance would be there with MLB purporting any garments to have specifically been worn by MJ.

I'm referring only to my strong belief that there was only ever one cream-white Indian tunic that was ever worn by Michael Jackson.

Michael Jackson Indian Tunic

Correction. I don't know who makes me MORE sick, Michael Lee Bush or the twisted hate spewing trash media.
