Michael Jackson Signing Styles in Julien's Tompkins and Bush Sale

On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Great tip, Carl.  Would someone with a copy of Bush's book please research MLB's comments in book regarding the White House jacket?

In Bush's King of Style book on pages 91-93 it says Michael gave away this jacket to a fan in the elevator.
It does not specifically call it the White House jacket, he describes it as a "black British hussars jacket", but it IS the White House jacket/no red on collar/14 buttons/sequins.

Under the picture of the jacket it says the one in the photo is a RE-CREATION of "the one he gave away to an adoring fan in an elevator."

So does that mean what i think it means, or has he left himself a way out by not specifically calling it the white house jacket. Either way the jacket issue should definetly be reported to the news if Steve goes back to the news for a second time. It really is pretty amusing just how deep of a whole Bush has dug himself, and it just keeps getting deeper.

I can believe this jacket mix-up could be a legitimate/honest mistake by Bush/Julien's. Maybe or maybe not, so it can't define our argument.

HOWEVER it does not excuse or undermine all of the FAKE autographs and standee.
AND ALSO this has highlighted that in Bush's own words in his book he has RE-CREATED Michael's clothes, which begs the question how many auction items were recreations.

It's nice to see you back. There is no way this was a mistake unless Julien's generally doesn't authenticate and verify the provenance of what they auction.

Yes. It is (or was) their business to research, verify and know the provenance of all they sell.  They are (or were) professionals. 

It's not as though Julien's would blindly just slap everything together willy-nilly on the consignor's word alone.... oh wait, that IS Darren's excuse.
