On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

He consigned in 2009 too?

No idea, I'm saying "If they are all his" lol.  :)  BTW, I did find golden tickets this morning with no sig, I can't find them now though, so its strange that these were signed.  I guess I didn't really look at it strange when I saw them without sigs until now.

http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/neverland-valley-ranch-michae...  Heres the ones without a sig.  I did find that it was weird though that these also looked like they had numbers written in?  (like the other ones are specifically printed).  In any case, these were the unsigned ones.

Interesting.

Never. I'd be very very surprised if this was genuine. Looks marginally better than Bush.

I think TM is right, it's a secretarial. Good to know what the secretarial for that time was.

It could be. We don't have enough to confirm that yet, though.

No, you're right. I'll keep my eyes peeled for that style, though.

Wow,

A lot has happened since I went away for few days.  It's unreal how many bad items that were sold.  This is the first I have seen of these autographs.  I never look at Juliens catalogs so I never have seen these.  You all are correct that these new (or older) autographs are not authentic either.  Darren was also made aware of the MJ secretarial signatures in the past.

Here is a note I just got in to authenticate that shows how Michael really wrote "Michael Bush"

This should pretty much clear up things.

Roger where did this note come from Plz? I would like to see the rest of it.

I have repeatedly stated Bush was only the wardrobe person, look at what this note states. "designer" is something Bush dreamed up after the fact, something i guess he always fantasized about, but was not!!

Great point.  It seems Michael knew that Tompkins was the designer, Bush the sewer and wardrobe man. (I'm sure I'm being much more harsh on Bush than MJ would have ever been able to be - but MJ saw the truth).

Thanks for sharing this high resolution HUGE image, Roger.  Yes, that clears up a lot.

Look at the L in Michael Bush. The same loop for an L you see in Jackson's "Michael" all the time in genuine ones.
