Hello. I am currently looking for an authentic Lucille Ball autograph. I'm looking into RR auction s but also wanted to ask on here if anyone knows of good, reputable dealers I could look at as well.

Does anyone know about Heroes and Legends?

I took a look at the Star Wars autographs and they look pretty good to me.  I am a little concerned about the Harrison Ford signature on the group photo.  Hopefully Brandon will be able to comment on it.  As far as Lucy is concerned, I would try to research how often she was actually out in public in such a place as Midtown Manhattan.  The Melendy Family was a series of children’s books and if she did actually purchase a copy at FAO Schwarz I can certainly imagine a store employee hanging on to the sales receipt back in 1961.  This should be just as official as a signed check for legal reasons so as long as the signature is one that you are satisfied with you should be happy to add it to your collection.  Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for the reply Mike.

It has been reported that Lucille Ball was appearing in the Broadway show "Wildcat!" in 1960-61 so I think it's very possible for her to have gone shopping in NY at that time. I'm also considering some checks that are on the market as well. It does look much like the other examples that are out there. However I'm leaning more towards purchasing a check signed during the "I Love Lucy" era. Decisions, descisions.

I've seen some of their items before. Anyway, this Lucille Ball is fine. Since you mentioned it though, you could get a check in this price range instead.

Thanks Brick.

I bought a Lucy Chk from that same seller last month, less than he is asking now. He had a few of them, and a few signed receipts, from Lucy and Desi. Her checks have gotten crazy, as far as prices and I'm guessing they won't be getting cheaper. I remember 10 +- yrs ago, I bought a grouping of receipts from Lucy + Deai, also chks signed by others, ie: Fred Ball, Delores Ball, All my friends laughed at me, asking if Screw Ball had signed them too.... I wish I still had those.

You must have quite a collection. I've heard from more than one source that Lucille Ball checks are def. going up in value.  I plan to get one while they're still somewhat reasonable. Although she has been gone for quite a while I would think the value is about as high as it's going to get. Then again...I'm not an expert like some others on these boards.

I'm the farthest thing from an expert, but I do remember when I bought my 1st few sets (Desi & Lucy chks) and I was paying $100 for a matched set. You look now and it seems like too often $200 is the starting point just for Lucy. It kills me to see that some are asking 35 and up signed by Fred or Delores. One thing I do notice , having been out of active collecting for a decade, some prices are just crazy, really absurd. Takes alot of the fun out of it.

Honestly, I'd wait for a better signed check. The smudge at the end of the signature is a big deal, to me at least.

I agree Brick. I passed on it. Plus I asked the seller about it and never got a response back.

I won! I'm so glad I won this RR auction:
