Bought this today at an estate auction. Very nicely framed with signatures on the back cover of It's only Rock and Roll.
Yeah sorry David,I am somewhat familiar with the Stones and their different styles through the years and unfortunately IMO they all look to be nothing like any of the typical auto's from Mick n the guys that I have witnessed. The Ronnie Wood is WAY off, and the Richards is too fat and the K to the e is really tangled up funny. He will usually do the i in Keith then cross the t into the h.The Mick has the correct J in Jagger but everything else looks off.Hopefully you didn't pay much.Sorry !
I agree, it looks fake so hopefully it was only a few bucks and you can get a refund.
Might one of them be real? And the others added for display purposes?
I only paid $50 at an estate sale so it was worth the shot. It came from a wealthy family member. The estate company said the appraiser wanted to put a big price tag on it but the estate company would not as they could not confirm anything about it.
Hopefully the album is in condition to be played if I open it up. I'll at least enjoy that.
Totally understand,I have a bunch of signed albums from the local record stores and other places that I totally gambled on!LOL I figure as long as we arent forkin out the big bucks it's always worth the gamble ,especially anything Stones! The only one that you may want to have looked at IMO is the Jagger.Maybe have Mr' Epperson give it a look also. Not sure what he charges ,but he pretty much is the go to guy when it comes to authenticating around here and has been doin this for quite a while and knows his stuff.Hopefully your right and maybe we are all wrong, either way it is cool to own for $50!Good luck!
I opened up the frame to see what else might be inside. It was very professionally mounted and the record is in mint condition. The signatures were done by hand, not prints. Odd someone would go to so much trouble for fake signatures unless they were trying to sell it for big bucks. All I can figure is ths must have been to create a decorative piece for their own home.
or that rich person got ripped off by fake signatures.
