I saw this one on eBay and don't believe it to be authentic. It doesn't even look close to me. Sorry.
doesnt look good imo
would be cool if someone could put up a known Jimi Hendrix to compare to......
There are many variations of jimi to say mine is real - and no one signs same thing twice. In my un-professional opinion, mine does seem real. Actually I would even go as far to say that it is also possible the example you posted below mine is a fake and copied from mine.
Thanks everyone for your comments, though i find the feedback concerning as this would mean COAs mean nothing. I'm sure the opinions are because it is a jimmy hendrix, when rarely do they appear. I think this is the reason of everyone not believing it - as suddenly a jimmy hendrix pops up out of the blue. Visually it looks spot on so i'm sure the opinions are based on what is is. Take another look.
Some COAs are worthless simply because anybody can print one. Unfortunately, in my opinion the one issued for the autograph in question is one of those.
Jimi actually was a good signer, so there are quite a few authentic examples out there. It isn't that unusual for an authentic one to appear. My opinion is based solely upon the appearance of the signature, and has nothing whatsoever to do with rarity. I've taken another look and unfortunately my opinion remains the same.
Thanks for your opinion but the auction houses and enthusiasts didn't spot the $48,000 beatles forgeries going around at the time, but the dealer I got it from did. I bought from world renown autograph detective in 2002 who ordered for me from USA. The autograph passed many experts before it got to me. Times seem different now.
Sean, do you mind stating who the dealer that spotted it was, and who the world renown detective was?
John Massetti was the dealer I bought from, the only one who realised the forgeries. He is member of UACC & LADA. At the time in 2002, he was only one of 2 reg. dealers in Australia. Actually only a few years ago, he asked if I was interested in selling this autograph back to him.
