Eagles band experts, need your help! New member here :-)

Hello all..I ran into the site after searching for fellow collectors who love The Eagles. I have a guy I ran into selling his entire 40 yr collection of autographs, two of which I intend to buy if genuine. He "guarantees them for life" with his own COA (which I know means nothing) and money back BUT the trouble is when I mentioned I was going to send them to PSA for authentication he balked immediately and said he "had no respect for PSA/DNA or JSA" as there were so many stories of them getting it wrong. That red flagged me immediately but of course the honest (naive) person inside wants to believe everyone. Been burned before so this time before I pay I want to get third party opinions. I saw the thread for the Greatest Hits albums and you guys added some very educated thoughts on it, and the majority felt the sigs were fake. He also has a GH album that I've attached as well. More of those sigs looked suspicious to me, but again, I defer to you.

This guy did send back my money immediately via paypal as I had sent payment. That was the one saving grace and makes me wonder if the guy really is telling the truth. Heck maybe you guys know him (David Davis out of Chicago). He has a website with space-themed autographs that he claims to be passing down to his grandkids. He also has a huge Craigslist ad (yes red flag #2) with all these other autographs.

Without the CL bias, look at these scans he sent me and tell me what you think. I checked them against known PSA certified photos and felt everything except the Glenn Frey looked right. Then again I am not an expert. I think you all see details (errors) I am not familiar with.

It's one of those "too good to be true" things and my gut tells me yet again, it is. Your opinions are very welcome and much needed!

That's exactly what he did to me. He too offense when I said I was going to send it to PSA, gave me links to stories where PSA had messed up, and told me maybe I should buy from an established dealer with references.

Best advice I've ever had from a scammer!

He's a polished forger though, refunding my paypal payent immediately no hesitation. I just hate that other unsuspecting people are going to get scammed by him.
AB..for some reason I cannot reply to your pms. Email me at matthewmartin@juno.com
Ira..I can't reply to messages or send a private, so hopefully you will see this. I might be interested so yes send me a few pics.
Ira..I am still trying to reach you re: the Eagles piece you emailed me about. I replied but never heard back from you. Not able to send you a private message nor add you as a friend, something on this site is screwed up.

If you received my email, how about if you click "Reply?" If that doesn't work, you can contact me via my website at irarosen[dot]com, click Contact. Thanks.

Or you could go to my eBay listing for it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111093038607?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&...

Your first tip off may have been the fact that Bernie Leadon didn't play on the Live in 80 LP and there his "signature" is front and center. These are not typical forgeries with bad made up version of signatures. The forger has actually seen real ones but is having a very hard time writing them out - very slow and shaky handwriting.

Ira..I DID try to reply, sent you a reply via email, never heard back from you. "Reply" on here doesn't work for me but Steve is working on it.

John, he claimed he picked up these sigs personally and got them individually. When I saw all 7 on one piece it not being correct as far as the actual members who played on that album didn't matter, I just want to collect all their autographs one way or another. I did see the Don Henley on the GH album seemed as though it was written by someone much older than Henley. On the phone, this guy does sound like he is in his senior years.
Wanted to update everyone on this. The scammer (gooddad23@aol.com for reference) had the balls to email me again today asking if I still wanted to buy the signed pieces from him.

I told him I didn't take forgery lightly and if he would send them to PSA first and they were authenticated, I would buy everything he has :-)

Still a bummer that I missed on my Holy Grail of autographs.

Pretty sure this is the same guy that was banned from the CollectSpace forums a few months back for selling fake space signatures.  He had been a member for quite some time too if I remember correctly.

Mike..yes he claimed to have every single sig from all the space missions from the 60 and 70's along with all the space shuttle missions, as well as a website with space sigs. Real piece of work.
