I am concerned about the shakiness of this autograph.

I think this is traced

Good call Dan.  The autograph is typical but very shaky.

I have a COA the company issued. If it is fake I am probably covered. I will take a picture of it when I get home.

Also what is the best approach to this situation? Should I have someone try authenticating it? Or does this look 100% fake?

I bought this from Skyline Signitures who apparently has an account on here.

Actually, Skyline seems to have a pretty darned good reputation from what I understand.  Perhaps it's just a less than perfect example?  Maybe I'm looking at the thing wrong, but it doesn't look that shaky to me.

plus the COA matches Ian's location because he is currently in NYC for a play.

It looks fine to me! I have a few signatures from Ian and they match fine!

If it came from Skyline Signatures you should be fine.  I have purchased from them without any concerns.  The shakiness may be a result of it being signed in person.  As I stated above, it is typical of Ian McKellen's autograph.  Trusting the dealer is crucial to autograph collecting.  Here is a link to the Ian McKellen that I purchased from Skyline Signatures.

awesome pics! Jealous of the Peter Jackson one!

Thanks Dee.  I actually had my eye on another one at the time but it sold before I was able to purchase it.  He was a little bit heavier in the photo that I wanted originally.  There is something about a skinny Peter Jackson that bothers me.
