I can never tell with Metallica.  I would like to hear what others have to say though.  If its legit, its a very nice guitar.

This Guitar is not signed by the members of Metallica. IF the seller stated that the guitar was signed 1991 it would have been a slight chance that it was genuine. Because the forger have been using that era autographs when they signed this and not the 2011 era autographs. But even for a 1991 signed piece, all the autographs are off. Please stay away from this one.

Yes, I know.. I should have stayed away, but I already bought it. :(  I bought it from Antiquities Of Ca. www.AntiquitiesCA.com . It seemed like they are running a legit company, being in business for 27 years. I asked them repeatedly about the authenticity before I bought it. They told me that they got it in person at the Fillmore Show. I asked around on the Metallica Forums and everybody are telling me that it is a fake, but when I confront Antiquities about it, they keep telling me that its the real thing and that they got it themselves.  I just want some more confirmation that it is fake or real since they keep stating that it is the real thing. Anyone else here who have done business with Antiquities? Have they done these type of scams earlier?

Any info, suggestions on how to proceed will be much appreciated.

Most of what they sell on that website seems to be fake.  I've never seen them sell an authentic U2 item, and they have a number of full band items (increasingly rare) at any given time.  They're a forgery outfit that uses elaborate framing as a smoke screen.

Rich is right. I would never buy anything from them. If you paid with a credit card, I would file a dispute with my card holder right away and hopefully you will get your money back. I know that the store will tell you that they don't accept any other authenticator than their own. And of course their authenticator will say that it's the real deal.

I just feel sorry for you. Because we are talking about a lot of money!

Roger Epperson will tell you if its authentic, $15 for a quick opinion.  He is the best in the business for music autographs.  If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for that?

Thanks, I will check with Roger.

I paid 3000 incl. shipping to Sweden. :(

From what others have said it does not look good.  That really sucks to spend that kind of money and find out it may not be real.  Like I said I have a difficult time being able to spot an authentic Metallica and this one could of fooled me.  Good luck on this.

Here is a post on Antiquities of Las Vegas which is the same owner as the CA outfit from 2010.
