Hi what is your opinion on this Paul McCartney signed guitar.
Guitar will be auctioned in next few weeks by quite reputable auction company. (I tried to google them and found only possitive responses and feedbacks, no articles about fake items.)
They claim to be autographed in 2009.
Right handed fender has almost nothing in common with Paul, but I love the fact it is on guitar and not on pickguard.
All opnions will be valued.
Thanks
seems to look ok
this is strange. The Paul looks good, the McCartney is horrible. could Paul have just signed his first name, and someone added the last name? the pressure on the M seems off from the rest.
very possible....bearing in mind he only seems to sign Paul now most of the times.
I was thinking the exact same thing terrier8HOF pointed out. The pen pressure and the angle on how the signature was signed are different, like there was a stopping hesitation right after Paul and a change of the pen angle for McCartney. If it were legit, you would think the ink pressure and thickness would be consistent from start to finish. The Paul looks close, but the McCartney, uh, not so much.
It appears to me that he adjusted once he hit the bend in the body of the guitar. It seems pretty convenient that he would have signed his first name in a position that allowed the last name to be added so that the full name is centered with the pickguard. To me, the last name looks consistent with other examples I've seen, including the open "A" and lifting of the pen after the "T."
This looks authentic to me.
I agree that he signed only "Paul" and McCartney was added later.
For what it's worth I don't like any of it. I agree that the 'Paul' and 'McCartney' appear signed by different people. The 'McCartney' is dreadful and the 'Paul' is easily forged. It's also a bit clean and unrushed which is rare for these first name sigs.
I don't know. I would think that if he wanted to sign his whole name, he would have angled it downward, as he normally does? This one really bothers me.
Ballroom, I honestly don't see the comparison between this and the one up top. maybe I am missing something, but they look very different to me.
