Purchased a book with 40 autograph cuts in them.  Some I am going to keep and frame with a photo.  Some I am wanting to sell.

Here is the question...

What is the best way to sell them.  I want to get them authenticated so there is no doubt about their authenticity.  Now most are dedicated to someone.

1. Do I CUT off the dedication and get the cut certified with out the dedication? And then just sell the cut?

2.  Do I mat it up with a photo and get the persons name matted out?  And then sell.  A mat cut cost $12

3.  Or do I leave the dedication and get certified and sell as a certified cut w the dedication?

thanks with any input - I have never really dealt with autograph cuts before.

I would leave the autographs the way they are today with the dedication and then it's up to the buyer to decide if they want to cut of the dedication or mat it out. (I would prefer to mat it out. So you have the whole thing for the future.)

Good luck in your decision.

Being an expert in the field, I suggest you keep the dedications on the cuts if they don't hold too much value. Otherwise I would have the dedications matted out and placed/framed with a photo.

Expert in what field?

Mike was making reference to us teasing him about turning everything into cuts. It was humor. He wasn't tooting his own horn.

=)

thanks guys for your suggestion.

I have a signed page in the autograph book from Ted Williams.  He signs To Ruth, Best Wishes, Ted Williams.  So something like that keep the To Ruth and get it authenticated??

Any one have a suggestion on how to separate the pages??  Should I try and take apart at the seem or just cut each page out?

thanks

Mark

If you're dead set on splitting them up, definitely try to take the book apart rather than cutting the pages out.

ok.. thanks for the suggestion
