This is my first post here (hope I'm doing this correctly), though I've been lurking for awhile.  Thank you to everyone who takes the time to offer advice and opinions on these forums... I'm learning a lot from you.  I was a fairly active collector in the late '70s... now, not so much.  Had a lot of success receiving replies through the mail and I'll post some more later that I would like to get opinions on.  In the meantime.  John Lennon.  Was listening to one of those 'Weekend with the Beatles' radio shows sometime in 1976.  People were calling in relating their experiences... did you ever meet a Beatle? etc.  Some girl called in and said that she wrote to John and received an autograph.  Thought I would try that too.  So, I sent two 45 picture sleeves and sheet music along with some fab fan letter - no idea what I said.  About 10 days later, I received these...  the large white background was the piece of mat board that I had in the return envelope.  Almost threw that away.  What do you think?

Thanks,Steve

There are members here that know Lennon's autograph better than me, but I think all of them are definitely real and are correct for the mid-to-late '70s time period.

WOW!!!

Wow indeed!

If you wrote to him at the time, then I think these are most likely real. I dont think he used secretaries did he?

So, very nice collection indeed, and you're lucky you were around to write to him. I was born in 1976!

Thanks for sharing, please post more if you can.

Lennon signed in the mail. these are really cool.

I know John never refused an autograph in New York, but I had no idea that he signed his mail. I have a single Lennon piece (also signed by Harry Nilsson,) and  I would never consider myself an expert, but these all look right on. Congrats.

I don't study Beatles sigs but these look good. Now, Steve Sheets, just send one to me for my collection and all will be right in the world. Congrats on having some beautiful and valuable items.

Fabulous!  Want to sell one to a fellow 'Steve' lol?

I'd love the fourth one!

You are one lucky collector! Although mine was originally mailed to John as well, I ultimately ended up retrieving it from the Dakota. Now I wish I had asked for more!

Wow, these are amazing! Congrats!

What a brilliant unique set of autographs! I'm so jealous!

Lennon would take the time during his house husband years-(1975-1980)...to grab a handful of letters from the fan mail...and if you had a self addressed stamped envelope with your request..the chances were pretty good that Lennon would grant your request and send you an autograph. Nice collection!!!

Insane!!!The first one is my favorite! Speech bubbles by Lennon! I love them all, your such a fortunate fan to still have these!Im so jealous,If you ever decide to part with the first one........
