The item  says reprint, but the seller includes a copy of the Steiner COA.

There is something really shady about this, no? I feel like the seller has chosen words that dance around the authenticity of the autograph as compared to the photo. Does anyone know whether this is a violation of ebay policy?

Sorry if this isn't where this goes, because there is no discussion necessary about the autograph being real. But something just hasn't felt right after seeing this.

I ran into this earlier this year with an Official Pix Harrison Ford autograph reprint, it had the Licensed hologram and everything one would expect with an Official Harrison Ford autograph as well. I made Official Pix aware of this and either they chose not to push ebay or ebay left the item up and for sale.

My thinking is these items should be stuck in the "Reprint" category and not allowed in the Original Autograph category, but I don't own the rights and I don't control ebay.

Just hope that people read the description fully before buying.

Why would Steiner issue that COA with an autograph reprint?  Something appears to be wrong with this entire situation.  Regardless of the item description, that Steiner COA should not be issued along with an autograph reprint.

You can tell that the Steiner COA is not an "authentic" Steiner COA/card. The corners are not rounded. I'm guessing the seller just photocopied it and put it in a case, he even states that it's just a copy of the COA.

Nice catch Mike.

The Steiner COA does not go with that item, there is no hologram on the piece itself. I think the seller is trying a bit of trickery.

Thanks for all the input. The seller stated in an email that the autograph is a reprint as well. I think that it's really shady to list the auctions under the category he's chosen and mentioning the Steiner COA is intentionally misleading. This guy should be banned from ebay, IMHO.

The item has ended but was clearly trying to scam a buyer

Maybe not.  I wrote him last night when I first saw this.  Read below for our messages

Dear lspi2131,

So this autograph is a reprint? I notice you have a Steiner COA with it. I'm just confused. Is this a reprint of his autograph or his real autograph?

This is a reprint of certified signature on Derek Jeter with a copy of COA.  It was originally a photograph that I had transferred to canvas but it is not signed by Jeter.  I have had a couple people write in, I may remove an relist.

Thanks for writing in,
Lspi2131

I assume he is going to relist ( and reword ) the listing.  I don't think the guy is a scammer based on his response.
