I am a little bit concerned about the loop of the "R". Otherwise, it looks pretty typical to me. Let's wait to see what others have to say about it.
I would hate to think that someone would ruin a high priced card like this with a forgery. But I do have my doubts about this signature. Slant is not typical and the baseline is all over the place.
Agreed. I noticed the slant as well. Good call on the baseline.
I think it is 100% authentic. I have a card that I got signed a show and the baseline is a little off. I think the card is real and I think either TPA would agree.
Nolan Ryan may have autographed the baseball card while holding it in his palm. That could account for the curved appearance of the baseline. I have had a couple of ticket stubs that were signed that way.
Jacob, what is the history of the baseball card?
This card was handed down to the person I bought it from by their grandfather. He had a massive collection of autographs that he said were signed at sporting events and signings.
I have seen hundreds of Nolan Ryan signatures, and several variations. this style is not consistent with any of them. TPA agreeing or not, I do not like it.
