As a collector of music autographs, I will always try the in person route first should there be something in my area I would have access too. Next would be purchasing through the artist direct or pre-sale signed CD’s to support the artist and the 3rd will be through the mail (or email) contacting the musician or manager directly. I have had many great and rewarding successes through the mail and find my chances of receiving authentic signatures much higher than “trusting” a story with a COA from a seller I don’t know (even if the graph looks really good) based on my own research.

What I have found is that “most” musicians will not use a stamp, autopen, use a secretary or send a preprint, they will either sign your item or bin it. It seems collectors of Hollywood, sports, politics etc… are at a much higher risk of receiving back something fake so I don’t bother and don’t consider it a real option.

Like I had said above, I have had some amazing success (or luck) this way but it seems more music collectors take the 3rd party purchase route.  Do any other music collectors that are on this site use the mail as a viable collecting tool? What are some of your top graphs you received?

Agree, here in New Zealand I often send TTM to the record company or artists home address. When people tour I try to go venues or will send something to the venue to be signed. To date I have managed to get everyone from Phil Collins, Lorde to Joe Cocker. As you say they tend to either bin or sign

I personally have a hard time finding good addresses for musicians.
A couple good ttm success I've had are Tom Petty ans Slash.
Hey Chad what address did you use for Tom Petty, He's top of my wanted list.
I sent something to the United Center when he played there.

I just had a 3/3 return from Brad Paisley

Stones drummer Charlie Watts signs thru the mail. Sorry dont have address.

That's surprisingly one of the more high profile/popular musicians that does than. Now I have slight interest in trying TTM to him haha.

Its on the website fanmail . Somebody last posted he signed august this year I believe. Send a cd cover.

Think an LP would be too much?

If you properly package it and can include round trip postage to and from Uk. And assume the risk that it might get lost or not signed but I wish you luck. And of course a nice note of thanks.

Charlie Watts is a good signed. All items are dedicated ans 2 maximum per person. Takes a few months but so well worth it

charlies a great signer heres one from 2011
