What are your opinions about Roger Epperson?  Is he a legit authenticator of music autographs?

Thanks for your input. This George Harrison/John Lennon dual signature has already been certified

by PSA. Roger Epperson's would be the second Coa. The seller would do this for me.

What do you think? Is it worth a shot? After the purchase, I would have JSA authenticate it for me

as well. What do you think? Is the piece worth the risk?

He comes highly recommended but obviously makes mistakes, like every TPA, as proven in the threads and looks like it's hard to get a refund if deemed bad by another TPA.

Just do your homework like you would on any other auto
Could you name one authenticator who is better then? For me the $15 that he charges for his Quick Opinion is well spent when you need help before you buy an expensive autograph. Yes help, not a "law" I have to follow because I understand he's human and makes mistakes too.

So please let me know who else I should turn to? Or are you just interested to throw as much dirt as possible on Epperson...
Jan did I say something wrong?

I'm pretty sure everyone he would say the same thing about psa or jsa - don't just take their word. That's what I'm saying, don't just take eppersons word because as we've see he has been wrong

Oh and Jan go and read the MJ thread - you'll see I was one of those blind buyers who was going to bid on a item just because it had an Epperson loa and had seen everyone here saying if it comes from him it's real.

Now I know to be smarter
Sorry Sam, I just thought you were yet another one of those who came here with a "hidden agenda"...

I apologize if I were wrong!

YTHERE IS FRANK CAIAZZA FOR BEATLES

That's Caiazzo

Especially not PSA's word, they stand for PROFESSIONAL SPORTS AUTHENTICATORS. Problem is, they're even horrible at that. They have no clue when it comes to music of any sort. Pathetic. Epperson does music and music only and knows what he's doing far more than any person at that club house.

Thanks Keven,

What do you think of Roger's abilities to judge the authenticity of Beatles autographs?

Sam makes a valid point. Authenticators are giving an opinion and most get it right 95%+ of the time but they make mistakes. I personally could not care less if an item has an authentication letter or stamp, I solely go by my own judgement.

However; for reselling it seems it is a necessary evil and more required than ever these days so do your research and if unsure ask on here and you will normally get your answer.

95%+? Awful high percentage. Neither PSA or JSA come even close to that.

If your logic is that you don't want to trust Roger Epperson because he may have made a mistake or two over the years, then my advice to you is this. DO NOT EVER BUY AUTOGRAPHS FROM ANYBODY. If you purchase autographs, it's always going to be a dicey proposition. So, just collect what YOU can get in person. Oh wait, you can't meet Mick Jagger. Oh well. What's a collector and hard core STones fan to do??

Seriously, these threads pop up all the time, and it grows tiresome.
