Wish I could help but I have never seen an exemplar of his to go by.  Is there another name on the back of the page?  As a great fan of Erick Sykes I remember the giant Tommy Cooper from "The Plank."  I also remember seeing him as a boy when  he was on the Ed Sullivan Show in the late 60s doing a magician act and getting it wrong.  The ballpoint pen looks right for the era he was in.

Yes I cannot believe there would be a big market for forgeries of him.  

You say that, some people will forge almost anything, but yes see what your saying. to be fair it only cost me £9 off Ebay so nicely framed I believe I should make a bit on it hopefully.

I have 4 in my collection as I collect the old time comedy stars, not so much for value more, memories!
Your one is indeed authentic, great bargain!
