First off, if I were you, I would stay away from GAI, even if you really like the photo that it is signed on. While PSA/DNA is not perfect, they pretty much hold more weight than any authenticator, and their stuff is accepted by all major auction houses.

Although you can never just trust the sticker, rightly or wrongly, PSA stuff is generally passed around the hobby as authentic. JSA is about the same.

PSA gave it an "unlikely". It's a shame, I really like that one.

Any opinions on this one? PSA was "unable to determine".

The question you should be asking is who's making these determinations & how they're qualified to do so in the first place. There is no "PSA" as an entity. There's just a bunch of individuals giving opinions on things without having to put their name on them. That, to me, just screams "red flag".

Yes. I do understand all of that. But the only thing I know for sure, is that they are more qualified than me. If I want to buy an autograph, I really have no choice but to put my trust in someone else's opinion. If I could get 2 or 3 educated opinions before I buy, that would be ideal. It doesn't really matter to me whether the educated opinions come from PSA or this forum. In fact, one of each would be best.

Actually, in this case, you should be wondering if they're more qualified than Steven Jackson, not necessarily yourself.

And considering that PSA charges for their unquestionable "help", whereas members of this forum can provide follow up & do it for free, I question the need for the former.

But, of course, that's off topic.

Have you considered trying for Ariana TTM? It'll save you the money and the headache.

Definitely not meant as a slight against Steven Jackson. For all I know, he has the best eye around.

Most of my autographs were obtained in person, by me. But I was burned on one that I bought, and this was at a charity auction, no less. So now I guess I am just being extra cautious. I don't want that to ever happen to me again, so I am a little gun shy.

I actually did try TTM, and it is possible, but not for a while. I was told they don't have any on hand and she is in Europe on tour, so it won't be at least until the tour is over.

As someone currently working on a charity auction, I will say that some celebrities have no problem with donating fakes. And a lot of auctions of that nature are run by people who aren't collectors and assume, like the rest of us, that if a celebrity donated it to a charity auction, it's real, because, honestly, what kind of person would screw a charity over like that? But they do.

And I understand where you're coming from. I'm just really sick of people responding to PSA with "So sayeth the Lord" on this forum (and the community in general). That PSA doesn't tell you the credentials of who looks at your submission, their credentials, or their track record is why I prefer to stick to forums like this, where you can take a look at someone's past postings to see what they Yay'd & Nay'd, as well as asking them follow ups.

Most of advice does stem from a bitterness towards PSA's "anonymous" way of doing business, but I see it as a huge red flag, and often advise against listening to them in lieu of other options.

That said, on a more personal note, do you know when that tour ends? I was thinking of getting her for my aforementioned charity auction. You just saved us a stamp! :)

For some reason, your last message isn't giving me a "reply" tab. The tour ends in October. I got my daughter a Meet & Great through the fan club. This is a company called Fahlo. I wanted to get her the autograph at the M&G but there was a strict "no autograph" policy. I asked someone who works for Fahlo and he took down my information and said he could get it in the mail to me when the tour is over. I emailed him and he said he hadn't forgotten me, but still, I'm not holding my breath. It's just a wait and see type situation.

BTW, Fahlo seems to run the fan clubs for quite a few famous pop stars.

There's no reply tab because it exhausted the number of replies. As the column gets skinnier with each, I quite prefer the lack of tab to the posts you get on other sites where the column is one letter long & the reply takes up half the page.

Ok, so I went with this one, even with PSA's "unable to determine". There is so much writing on here, I would think that would make it a lot easier to determine one way or another, but one of the members here thought it was good. Plus the seller seems consistent in his background stories of his items. Record store signings, book store signings, comic con signings, all in the Pheonix/Scottsdale area, plus he sells a lot and has a 100% satisfaction rating. My bid was already accepted, but if anyone else wants to chime in on this pic, I welcome the feedback.
