Yes Paul Simon did a pre-signed one at Barnes & Noble in NYC 2008.  Also Mariano Rivera did one for his book there as well more recently.  Fans were not pleased, but there was no question about authencity.

Quite a few celebs talk on stage and then you buy a pre signed book. Alex Ferguson was just in Philly and you got a signed book as part of paying to listen to him talk.

Did anyone sign up for the Bitter Southerner Read Well Book Club?

Is this for real? You coulda heard me roar when I saw who the signer of the books  was.

I'd sure like to see one or more of them.

I am just catching up on this discussion.
First, I think the voting by number is a silly exercise as would be ending either of these discussions. This forum posting is enjoyable to myself and most of those interested are respectfully participating. I find the whole study valuable and love seeing the in-person, psa/jsa certified, ttm, and book examples everyone has shared. I think a new, condensed version of this discussion would be worthwhile but see no reason for ending what we have going.

I agree 100% Chad. otherwise, what would there be to discuss over there on the other side?

LOL.. great point terrier8HOF.
I do wish there was a way to combine the 2 threads regarding Jerry Lee Lewis's signature.  Both are novels - interesting they are.  Its a lot of information to go though.

I gotta admit I check over there. The diabolical ,maniacal linguist The Vanderhoover is lovin this and makes some good points like the jagged Rs. keeps me on the fence.

Yes but there is no debate over there whatsoever.  Every signed JLL item is real to them no matter how different looking or how obtained.  It seems to me the purpose of that site is to discredit this site's members, Steve and Roger, especially Roger. This site has provided valuable discussions not only on JLL but an array of signatures.  There is no name calling, or insults.  They also take posts from here , post them there, then tear them apart.  In the end, they may even be proven true, but they are not very professional IMO.

Oh, I agree, its a train wreck over there with disgruntled guys that got booted from here. Im sure they are secretly dying to be here on this site!

The issue is binary. It ultimately it comes down to whether or not JLL signed the books, and opinions shouldn’t be influenced by outside factors. I’m very much of the opinion that he did sign the books and as a result have had insults directed at me.
