If you had the power to make autograph collecting even better, what would you do?

Chatroom with plenty of beer Steve!

Both good ideas, but the chat room will be a much easier success, Mike.

If I set up a nice chat room where images, etc., can be uploaded, can IIf I set up a nice chat room where images, etc., can be uploaded, could I depend on some of you to be moderators?

This belongs in the site improvement section, so I'll paste it there as well.

Yes, im sure the regular guys will keep an eye open.

Steve, we mentioned a database many years ago, but maybe a wiki that could be somehow implemented on AML would do us good use.  If an editor is assigned for the wiki, only approved images could be published and it'll serve good as a means of organizing.  Just my two cents

There was a time when eBay was so good at policing autographs that a dealer started an auction site called TheSigning.com. This was their main sales pitch:

If you’ve been kicked off, suspended or threatened to be suspended over some minor infraction on other community sites, come and list at TheSigning.com.

You can read the 2012 discussion on here:

They will find other ways of selling their forgeries, just like that.
Who else could do a quick opinion service for music besides psa and Epperson?
Rr auctions could set up a qo service as long as there different experts offering opinions.

It's basic and not fully configured yet, but we have chat! Try it out from Who's Online or click the Chat tab on the right of the navigation bar.

I have a dream,
Sometime in the future, everyone that obtains autographs would be smart enough to make sure that they would take a picture of every autograph being signed by the person signing the autographs to make every autograph a Picture Proof Autograph.
You would have no need for authenticators because their would be no more forgers because their would be no autograph collector dumb enough to buy an autograph that did not come with an In Person Picture Proof Photo (I.P.P.P.)
Is it only a dream, or can it really be possible?

It'll never completely happen, but it would be great even a decent number came with absolute proof like that.

There was one grapher about 15 years ago (based out of NY, but he would take regular trips out to LA,) who would get picture proof of everything, he'd be sure to get one thing signed while someone photographed the signing for him, and then he'd get a photo with the celeb.

Then he'd go home and pull out a pile of the same photo and sit there and copy the graph in the same place on every photo, and sell them around the world with picture proof, likely keeping the real one stored away somewhere.

So even if the world of autographs went this way, there would be someone ready, willing and able to beat the system.
