Thanks Ian it's the E in "babe" that's bothering me. I've never seen it disconnect
Nice dark sig on what looks like a pretty white ball. If authentic that would be pretty pricey! Two a little dirtier on Ebay are 35-45 grand.
I am highly suspicious of most Ruth items, because there doesn't seem to be a reliable basis for comparison. But this one does not look right to me. the e is stood out to me first, not the break but the shape.
I agree with Terrier and Mike T. The flow concerns me, particularly between the "e" and the "R".
In my humble opinion, this "autograph" was "penned" long after the Babe smoked his last cigar...
