Hi everyone,

I am wanting to purchase an autograph from actor Jesse Eisenberg off Ebay for my birthday, however I'm having some issues. Jesse's autograph seems to vary quite a bit from what I've seen making it hard to spot fakes, even the PSA/DNA ones vary a lot. I'll link a few of the ones I am thinking of and am wondering if you could give me your opinions on if they look authentic or not.

Thank-you,

Miranda

All I can say is I don't know his graph but the third one from Cardboard Legends, I wouldn't touch anything from them.
Thank you for your reply Samuel. Why wouldn't you purchase from Cardboard Legends?

Cardboard Legends uses the authentication company called "Global Authentics" as their main go to place. Most GA items are forgeries, there are a couple of posts here on the forum about that company that'll give some insight. From what I can tell the Cherie Currie's, Jessica Alba's, Christoph Waltz's, Rose Mcgowan's, and Samuel L Jackson's they are selling for the most part are forgeries.

I agree on Cardboard Legends =- I'd stay away.

Regarding PSA, They're regarded as "good" in the hobby, but if you want actually 100% peace of mind (or close) that your item is authentic, I wouldn't hold PSA or JSA as the standard. As is the case with other modern day celebrities with sloppier autographs, going to a highly regarded in-person collectors - on Ebay or elsewhere - is probably your best bet.

I'll take a look shortly and see if I can find any good options.

Looks like Hollywood-Autographs has a few, obtained by top UK in-person collector Jason Thanos. One of the best, most reliable sources out there.

A couple of neat ones from Ebay seller norbsob99 (All-Star Signatures), a seller I always seem to see quality authentic IP items from.

Thanks for your replies. Hollywood Autographs seems good, but is there a reason they are cheap if they're authentic? It says that Jason doesn't get all the autographs after 2014. Also are you sure them and the ebay seller are good and authentic? I just don't want to buy a fake :)

I'd put Hollywood-Autographs at the top of the list. Jason still does most of the collecting as far as I know - Celebrity Ink (another good company who deals mostly in convention autographs) purchased the business a couple years back.  The do price somethings a bit high, and others a bit low. I got a very nice Lorde from Jason a couple years back at a very nice price.

I'll see if I could find any other reliable sellers this evening, but I'd personally feel much better about purchasing from those two than one with just a PSA sticker slapped on it.

In the meantime, there's a group on Facebook called Real Autograph Collectors Club (RACC). They're top notch pros in the hobby, and in dealing with verified sellers you'll be pretty safe. You have to be approved for membership first. Once in, just post that you're looking for an authentic Jesse Eisenberg.

A few other options: Outlaw Hobbies is a Canadian IP dealer who has a few Eisenbergs. They seem to be generally well regarded.

Toppix Autographs has a lot of Jesse's.

Thank you for all your help Rich, I think I'll be going with Hollywood Autographs. The company seems good and the autographs match very closely with the autograph Marshall put up.

Do you guys think $25 GBP is too cheap for an autograph? It averages about $45 AUD without shipping, but on Ebay everyone wants $100+
I don't know his autograph, but keep in mind that as long as you buy one that is PSA/DNA authenticated, it will generally be regarded as authentic in the hobby. Now that may not necessarily be a good thing, but it is reality. I will say that if you go with a PSA one, you have a better chance of it being authentic than otherwise. PSA makes plenty of mistakes, but they get more right than wrong. Also, if you ever decide to sell it, it will be easier to sell with a PSA COA backing it up. Keep doing some research before you buy. Hopefully, some others on here can help.
Thank you for your feedback James. It does seem like PSA is the way to go. It's just hard when two PSA ones look different :(
