Bon Scott - I hope it’s real
i just picked up this up. It looked pretty good to me, so I got it. It does come with a full LOA from JSA. what do you think? Most of the Bon Scott fakes I’ve see have been pretty obvious. If this isn’t real, they did a nice job with it overall. But I think it’s likely authentic. Hope you agree. The last couple of Bon Scott cuts similar to this have gone for over $1200 a piece with buyer’s premium included at RR Auction and that didn’t even include an LOA from a major TPA...I don’t believe. That would be another $150! Having said that, I still believe that Bon Scott’s Autograph is one of the most undervalued autographs in the hobby. His autograph is almost as scarce as Jimi Hendrix, and look where cuts of Jimi Hendrix have gone. And Bon Scott’s popularity is incredibly high too.
I updated the picture. This is what my Bon Scott looks like, warts and all, now that it is in my possession. I just received it in the mail today. The autographs is pretty large when you see it in-person. I was pleasantly surprised. In this case anyway, bigger is better.

I think this Bon Scott signed album page above in blue ink, which is encapsulated by PSA/DNA, compares pretty favorably to mine.

James, while Bon’s signature is rare, it is nowhere near the class of Jimi, in my opinion. I have a couple of AC/DC band signed items including this PowerAge album. I would gladly trade it for a solid, clean Hendrix.
I am not the one to ask but I am struggling with yours, when comparing it to my piece which was authenticated by TRACKS and PSA DNA. Do we know who is doing Music for JSA now?

That’s a good question. I don’t know who is the music authenticator at JSA. I agree yours is authentic. As for Jimi Hendrix and Bon Scott, Bon Scott just means more to me personally than Hendrix. I know that’s not the case for a lot of people.
My biggest concern with mine is the shape of the “n”. It’s more flattened. But I try to step back and look at the whole autograph, and when I do, it looks pretty good. However, I do have 30 days to return per the seller.

The seller had a starting bid price of $500. So for about 5 days no one bid. For whatever reason, even if an opening bid is pretty fair, many people will not bid when it’s several hundred dollars. Finally, with about 20 minutes left, someone bid at $500. It stayed that way until the very end when I and someone else put in their bids in the final minute. So there were 3 bidders, and I got it for $657.74.
If it is authentic, I think I got a good deal, especially, as I said, similar simple Bon cuts have recently sold at RR for over $1200.
