Hello everyone,
I’m hoping some of the knowledgeable members here at Autograph Live can help me evaluate an interesting handwritten letter signed by Clint Eastwood that I acquired from a private Hollywood memorabilia collection.
The letter is written on personalized stationery bearing the name Gordon Stulberg, a prominent Hollywood film executive. It contains a personal message to Gordon, complimenting his son and predicting that he would someday become famous. It concludes with “Adios, amigo, Clint Eastwood.”
A little background on the provenance:
The letter came from the private collection of the late Russell Snyder, a longtime Hollywood memorabilia collector and former Texaco executive. It was found among materials stored in his personal safe in Inglewood, California.
The letter is undated, but I suspect it may date from the 1960s, based on the handwriting and historical context. I would be interested in hearing whether others agree with that approximate period.
What I’m particularly interested in is the handwriting throughout the entire letter, not just Eastwood’s signature.
While researching early examples of Clint Eastwood’s handwriting, I came across a handwritten fan letter dated March 22, 1962, published by the Clint Eastwood Archive:

After comparing the two, I noticed what appear to be similarities in several letter formations, connecting strokes, and the way certain words and letters end.
Of course, I’m not a professional handwriting examiner, which is why I’d really appreciate opinions from members who have experience with authentic Clint Eastwood handwriting, particularly examples from the 1950s and 1960s.
A few questions for the group:
I’m including photographs of my letter and would welcome detailed comparisons, particularly from anyone who has access to other verified early Eastwood handwriting samples.
I’m interested in hearing both positive and negative opinions. My goal is to learn as much as possible about the document and reach an informed conclusion about its authenticity.
Thank you in advance to anyone willing to take the time to examine it and share their knowledge.
