There were many movie and television stars that appeared as guest stars (though never called that on the show) on TAGS. Hopefully others will add their autographs of stars like Buddy Ebsen, Charlie Ruggles, Edgar Buchanan, Everett Sloane, Alan Hale, Jr.,Bob Denver, John Dehner and many others who appeared as "guest stars" on an episode of TAGS. Elsewhere I think in the comment section I have my Jack Nicholson autograph. I am not including him here because he was in two episodes.
Julie Adams is one of those stars she appeared in a very popular episode "The County Nurse." I have had the pleasure of meeting her various times and she is one of the nicest stars I have encountered. She spoke very highly of Andy Griffith and how much she enjoyed working with him. She would go on to play Jimmy Stewart's wife in The Jimmy Stewart Show. She also appeared in a reoccurring role as the man-crazy real estate agent on Angela Lansbury's Murder She Wrote. Horror fans remember best as Kay Lawrence in the Universal Productions Creature From the Black Lagoon. This photograph is one I got from Miss Adams at her first Monster Bash Conference in Pittsburgh a few years ago.
Jesse White was everywhere on television from the 50s-90s. He appeared on The Munsters, The Adams Family, The Beverly Hillbillies, Kolchak, The Twilight Zone, and his last appearance was a Seinfeld episode. Of course he was the original lonely Maytag Washer repairman in commercials. His movie roles included: the jimmy Stewart movie Harvey, Don Knott's The Reluctant Astronaut, and even Bedtime for Bonzo with Ronald Reagan. He was in an episode of The Andy Griffith Show entitled "Andy the Marriage Counselor." This is a typical signature of his:
Roy Barcroft was usually a lawman in westerns and non-westerns both in movies and television. He was the marshal in the musical Oklahoma (I really did have to think of the tune to spell that). He was dog fancier "Clint Biggers" in the TAGS episode "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs." Although primarily seen in westerns he did comedies such as The Lucy Show in the episode "Lucy puts Main Street on the Map." He can also be seen in the oddly mixed horror-western "Billy the Kid Versus Dracula" (I'm not making this up). Barcroft was one of the many old character actors that appeared in the horror movie Rosemary's Baby. This is a typical autograph of his and a photo from his younger days.
Wow! Another one of my favorites...Roy is not all that easy to get.
Yes that is right Roy Barcroft is not super easy to find. I remember him best for his recurring role as "Roy" on Gunsmoke. He also played other parts on that. I got this autograph when I was seriously collecting Gunsmoke. I decided I would not live long enough to collect all the ones on that show. I still pick up when I can.
Those are great Gary especially like the Buddy Ebsen letter.
Excellent photo! Thanks for sharing
Scottie! Excellent item! I especially like Edgar Buchanan. I'm envious
Irene Tedrow appeared in scores of television shows and movies in her long career. One of her last roles was that of Grandma Shandling on It's Gary Shandling's Show. She appeared twice on The Mary Tyler Moore Show as Congresswoman Geddes. She also appeared on the original The Addams Family, Twilight Zone, Bonanza, and Columbo. She was in the TAGS episode "Opie's Newspaper" in 1965. Her autograph is fairly consistent. This is a 1986 example:
