If I'm not mistaken, Helen Keller could sign her name and she was both blind and deaf at an early age.

Yeah I think she could. And she was blind and deaf before age 2 I think. In an era where she probably didn’t do any writing yet at that age.

Too lazy to google.

What happened to your friend Phil? You sound a lot like him!

Paul is not Phil.

Bob,

Members should be respectful of each other, even if they disagree dramatically. Don't ridicule Paul or any other members.

No we are two people. We are partners in several businesses and Phil knows a lot about the music scene here in Brum so has helped me collate my collection and fill in any gaps. My pic is my profile pic back in my school days. Where I am one with Phil is being equally annoyed by your snide comments (referring to Bob, not you Steve). No one likes being called a liar and doing especially on a public forum which is visible to the world. Yes I'm selling off my collection of which this single autograph is one of nearly 2000, it's just one and hardly matters. What does matter is being defamed on a public forum.

do you print or write in script?

Bob,

Here's a photo of Ray Charles holding what appears to be a pen.

Here he's checking out that day's MLB results on Raita Johnson's (his 'secret' girlfriend)  iPhone (in Paris, October 1961)!

Paul,

Here's why I think yours could be secretarial:

I "bought" a Ray Charles from a lady who got it signed in person when she was Miss Cupertino in 1961-62. I put "bought" in quotes because she wanted the money for it donated to the Saint Alphonsus Foundation, which is a health and medical charity that has been helping Haitians since the earthquake. I wrote the check directly to the charity and sent it to them.

This is the front with Ray's autograph only.

These are the other bandmembers:

This is the lady, Donna Marie Hayes, with Ray Charles. Her friend (the incoming Miss Cupertino) is holding the program from before Ray signed it:

Member Bjarne Solderholm posted this signed Ray Charles photo from a book, written by one of his managers, I believe:

This signed Ray Charles was purchased at an estate sale in Beverly Hills for about $10 by two brothers 5-8 years ago. It was not offered as being signed by Ray:

"A Pug Called Eva," a member from Switzerland, bought this one at a flea market not long ago. All I have handy is the signature:

RR Auction sold this one at auction last month. The seller is anonymous, of course, but it has characteristics of the others I posted:

Yours is much more polished than these are, and I can't see how they could have been signed by the same person. Plus the slant of yours is quite uniform, and often at different angles than the same letters in the ones I posted.

Supporting your case, though, is this Ray Charles, signed only "Ray," in RR's current sale, in an album with a set of Beatles. It has a COA from Tracks, which lends a lot of credibility, and like yours, it was authenticated by Roger Epperson as well:

Here's yours, Paul, so it can be compared more easily with the others:

I just added the one you're auctioning at Omega to my reply.

Thinking back the two I was amazed signed for me as I can't believe they'd want to risk putting pen to paper was Larry Parnes and Don Arden.
