Sorry, you misread what I posted, I stated up to 10.  For example we don't have 10 experts on space so there would be just a few who opine.  We gear each submission towards those who are fluent with the signatures rather than pretend we can just be experts at every autograph, even if it is limited to celebrity and music.

Really impressive what you’ve done to start this ACOA. I like the model you are using and it looks affordable and collector focused as opposed to the TPA’s who have sold out the collector years ago. I saw a link to it yesterday and took some time looking through the website. I even saw the EBAY listing for a celebrity where the can purchase authentication. The opinions and some of the experts you have aligned with that I am familiar with I value and trust. Even if you don’t get them right 100% of the time I don’t see any conflicts of interest that weighed in in it.

I’m skeptical by nature and so far I’m really liking the creativity behind this.

My entries to this discussion was not about the ACOA services nor Mr. Steffman. I'm just opining on the flip side of the authentication services. Yes, they can and do give collectors some additional piece of mind. Although great care needs to be given before someone is quick to reject a signature unless it is clearly bogus.

Unfortunately, most services have become marketing tools for high volume sellers. Money does talk.

I understand Joe and wasn't replying to your comments.  Your problems with how the TPA industry has evolved is certainly not in contention with me.  I hate what could/should have been done in regards to the way it is and can't help but feel their corporate overlords and the almighty dollar may have been the guiding force.  Ultimately I believe we must be the change we wish to see in the world.  This is our attempt at fixing something that we feel is somewhat broken and can definitely be better.

Here's a bit of new info on both the Eric's posted by mc

I know who bought both of them. And I can assure you this person is an experienced collector and would not have them if there was even the slightest bit of doubt on authenticity.

The funny thing is, I only found out who owns them about half hour ago.
Now I'm more confident these are Legit... 101% now haha

And don't ask me who has them now.... that I won't say.

I don't have much to add about authenticity, as I really don't like giving opinions anymore in general. I will say that I did study Clapton a bit when buying my Clapton that was signed in 1985. So i did look at ones signed in that period, as far as these "more recent" signatures, they are obviously much more shortened (which I did save many short examples from the Genesis books to look at) which I will add one just for the hell of it.

This all being said, i just want to say as a member of both AML and RACC, and in defense of Mr. Steffman...He is very sincere in wanting to help. I am not sure of because of the "internet" and the nature of this hobby that things might have been misinterpreted here. Maybe certain verbage isn't everyones favorite, but he takes it seriously. You wouldn't find PSA or Beckett in an open forum discussing positive and negatives of an autograph and there is a reason why Roger basically stopped here. Perry Cox stopped too in open forum on fb etc..

There isn't much to gain, as you have to be able to deal with the blow back (as seen here) but what everyone has to realize he isn't the enemy. The only reason why it is being questioned is because people do sell fakes!

I applaud ACOA for trying to be another option, especially with their business model in using specialists. It is fine for people to be passionate, but please can we all just be respectful of each other and as Steve said, not shoot each other when we are on the same side?

Everyone: Enough with all the fighting and snide remarks. If I wanted to deal with that every day I would have stayed married.

+1 I have stayed out of all of this.

+2 Me also, makes it hard to give opinions anymore. People like to argue and crow about it if they are most likely in the right. Justin ( Mr. Steffman) was just giving his opinion like others here, no need for personal attacks.

I didn't mean everyone everyone, sorry. I meant everyone going back and forth.

I agree Ian. Civility has taken a dip here. That's my fault for not moderating better. That's changing tho.

You should be enjoying the holiday! Like someone said, we are all supposed to be on the same side. You do a great job Steve!
