Hi,

Could anyone help me authenticating these Nirvana autographs please?

This was found in a loft in Paris.

That is the only info I have.

I have also attached another picture of a record found at the same place and time which is also signed.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Thank you in advance!

hahahaha

in your opinion it seems

Please tell me who these master forger's are and post some examples

If you want to take this up a notch, then please do so sir

Many folks don't believe these are authentic and many DO

So let's see your evidence that they are FAKE

We can take this up privately or continue on here for all to see. It makes no difference to me.

In the end, people want the truth.
If you can prove to me these are forged, then I will certainly change my mind. BUT... show me the proof Paul

The autographs look authentic to a number of people who I highly respect on Nirvana, although  Dave Grohl's may not be period. But as far as I know, none of us have seen the albums in person. We know that you can tell if an autograph looks like a forgery from a photo, but you can't make sure it's genuine without inspecting it in person.

My concern isn't that they're necessarily forged, but that they may be copies of genuine autographs applied to the albums.

Here's an video on laser ink transfer paper and how to use it:

Here's an entire discussion posted by Seamus on McCartney High in the Clouds autographs he signed at book signings appearing on guitar pick guards, which I think may be transferred to them through the laser ink transfer method.

Read these when you have time and you may see why I'm concerned.

The LP came with a JSA cert, ask them if they saw it, I'll bet they did.

JSA approved it because the sigs look good, that is what they do. But nobody can tell me who wrote "For Darie." Iconic said it was "For Marie," which is it? Is it important that we know?

I think it is- I think whose handwriting that it is very important.

Has anyone else seen any Nirvana graphs coming out of France?

Yes, at least individual members. I can't say band-signed for sure, but there probably were. The were a good number of band-signed Nirvana sets signed in Europe, though. Including to one or more of our members.

frances bean wrote the inscription.lol

Ok, let me jump in. I bought the other In Utero LP.

Off ebay, and it arrived from France today. Unless someone has another copy of the same album, I think these are good. My expertise is Beatles so I know forgeries and it just doesn’t make sense for this to be a forgery. Why would they add a third person dedication, and mess with a second Krist auto. I choose to think that a local dj or insider had these signed for friends and filled in the dedications after the fact with his silver marker. I have it in hand and it’s ink. It smells old and musty. Like a butcher cover that’s found at a rummage sale every month. I assume that the guy who got these signed maybe never ran into the girls to give them to them and they went in a bin somewhere. I don’t know and I don’t care. They look great and the price was right. I might get Beckett to approve it (since they approved the iconic auction one) and frame it or even send it to my guy to remove the odd writing. Unless you get anything signed in front of you, you’ll never know for sure but this one looks spot on and it’s on a rare record. Why would anyone risk losing the value of a rare record to forge all of this extraneous writing. The price was right. It’ll look great on my wall!

At the end of the day you need to be the one who's comfortable with it! There's like 3000 of those records not exactly rare but I'd always be wondering if it is legit or not if I owned it.

Thank you for replying

These are both 100% authentic and remain confident in this fact and they are both obvious examples.

You have a gem

Paul... you don't own either one so you have no need to worry lol

It ain't the record that's rare... it's the sigs man

Signed close to Kurt's death?  YA MAN>>>> THAT"S RARE !!!!

That's half of the issue is that no one could get near them in 94. It is what it is could be knock off and may not be.

No one could get near them? hahaha

that's funny man

I met Kurt, Courtney, Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder in Maui around that time and spent the night swimming together. They are very open kids and loved to have fun.

I can tell you the hotel and the beach. I don't think it made the news but they were all on vacation together. Eddy was flying out the next day for the Bob Dylan tribute concert. I'm old so I don't actually remember the exact year. But I know what I know and that experience.

What else do ya wanna know man?

It doesn't even matter what I just said.
All that matters is that these LP's are no doubt 100% authentic

This case is closed and I don't even know why I bother replying here
