Hi everyone,

I’m new to collecting autographs and am trying to figure out how LOAs work. Specifically, I am watching an item on rrauction that appears identical to something previously auctioned on another site with PSA/DNA cert. However, rrauction doesn’t mention the prior cert or list the number on the auction page for the item; rrauction just says that the item is precertified.

Is it typical that a prior LOA isn’t mentioned or transferred to  buyer and that you have to obtain a new LOA?  It seems peculiar to me, but maybe that’s how the industry (or at least this auctioneer) operates.

Thanks,

Jason

A very good question. Some house guarantees only apply to the original buyer - others have rather short time periods (1 year sometimes) for authenticity concerns.

Is a house guarantee different from PSA/DNA? For this item I believe there is an existing PSA/DNA.

In looking at a bunch of other items currently on rrauction, I don’t see any listed as having been certified, just pre-certified. That makes me think rrauction (or the industry) may have a policy against including earlier LOAs, since I find it hard to believe that all of those items have never been looked at.

I don’t know what happened with the item you mentioned, but some of the items they offer do include an LOA from PSA/DNA.

Knowing RR Auctions, they are trying to make more money by having you pay them for the certification.  One may already exist, but they don’t make any extra money that way.

They have always included my LOA’s when I have sold through them.  If you provide a couple of links, I can follow up with rep.

The prior auction is here:

Current one is here:

I’ve reached out to them yesterday and waiting to hear back.

It was consigned without an LOA and may have changed hands a few times.
