Congrats to the Kansas City Chiefs 2019 Super Bowl Champions!

As a longtime suffering Kansas City football fan, it gives me great pleasure to congratulate Head Coach Andy Reid on his first Super Bowl Title and to the Kansas City metro area on our first Super Bowl Championship in 50 years!

Down 20 to 10 with about 7 minutes to play, it looked very bleak, but then Mahomes suddenly became Mahomes again with the help of a talented supporting cast.

I believe Mahomes became the first player ever to win an NFL MVP, a Super Bowl, and a Super Bowl MVP in his first three years as a player.  And really...this is basically his second year.  I believe he only played in one game his first year.

If you’re a 49ers fan, congrats on a great season.  I know it hurts when you’re so close, but then it somehow slips away.  But you’ve got a great future ahead.

How was the half time show?

I thought it was really good.  First there was Shakira and then Jennifer Lopez came on. I missed most of J Lo, but I thought Shakira was great...and pretty damn sexy to be honest.  Her show was fairly provocative, but the dancing and the music were great, imo.

Mind you, there are man other artists that I would prefer to listen to; however, as far as entertainment at the Super Bowl, I thought it was very good.  Of course, my favorite at the SB was back when U2 performed.

If you like half naked latin ladies dancing stupid choreography while performing 20 year old songs with ridiculous looking wannabe gangsta rappers, you for sure missed something!

But really...it was the Super Bowl.  My Chiefs were in it.  It wouldn’t take a whole lot to make me happy.  Now if we had lost, I’d probably say I hated the halftime show. ;0)

James, I'm so happy for Andy, and the Chiefs. It's kind of come full circle for us Eagles fans. Andy was here in Philly for 14 years and we loved and adored him. It was such a shame when left town without winning it. but for us Eagles fans getting our Super Bowl win two years ago and him getting his last night, it's kind of come full circle. Congratulations!

Thank you so much, John!  Even though I’m a big Brady fan, I was very happy for Eagles fans not only because you waited a long time for your championship like us, but also because of an older woman I’m friends with who is originally from Philadelphia.

I became very good friends with her after we met at a Starbucks here in Overland Park, Kansas (five miles from KC, Missouri).  She was born and raised in Philadelphia but has lived in the KC Metro area for over 40 years.  She still loves her hometown very much.  She roots for Philly sports first and then KC second.  She’s a brilliant woman too.  I can’t remember where she got her undergrad degree, but she got her Master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Kansas.  She did everything for the Ph.D. except she never completed her dissertation.  She taught high school math in Kansas City, Kansas for many, many years.  She’s just a great, brilliant woman.

And she just loves Andy Reid, so I know she’s very happy for him and her second favorite team, the Chiefs.  Andy’s been such a winner his whole career, and he’s a very classy man too.  He definitely deserved this.

Thanks too for the great pics of Andy!

Congratulations, James.  Enjoy the victory.

Hank Stram Autographed Check

Thank you, Mike!  I appreciate it.  And great piece of the great Hank Stram!  What a tremendous coach he was!  He’s the first football coach whose name I ever learned!

He remains legendary to this day.  Congratulations again.

Thanks again.  Yes, Stram was an innovator and big-time motivator.  He had a way with words, quite the talker, a personality very different from the more subdued, grandfatherly Reid.  But I like them both.  Andy’s a heck of a guy.

I always remember Hank Stram on the sideline with that rolled-up paper in his hand in his suit.  Great coach.
