I'd guess fake but let's see what Kamran thinks (Madonna expert on here).  Plus, just because it has a Sotheby's sticker doesn't mean it was sold at Sotheby's.  Show me a matching catalog photo.

Doesn’t look right to me.

Hi Tim.  I don’t think this is authentic.

Hi Tim,

Not real. The big giveaway is how the "e" in love connects to the "M" in Madonna. It's not flowing naturally. It looks like a slow calculated attempt.

I now own this photo having won it on an eBay auction. Does anyone have an opinion on Sotheby’s authenticity? The seller sent me the matching catalog photos and says it’s authentic. It failed Authenticity by PSA, Beckett’s and JSA. The seller said he trusts Sotheby’s more than those services and won’t refund my money.
Please help me! Kamran? Or any other experts, please give me some guidance. Thank You.

The Sothebys sticker is not an authentication. It simply states that it was sold in a lot on that date.

"It failed Authenticity by PSA, Beckett’s and JSA. The seller said he trusts Sotheby’s more than those services and won’t refund my money."

What in this thread about the same item makes you think it has any chance of being authentic? That sticker is 29 years old?

This item should be worth in excess of $1000. Why do you suppose seller accepted your Best Offer of $500 (or less)?

Bruce Juice in first reply mentioned a matching catalog photo. Seller sent that to me. With those top companies declining authentication, I would say it’s junk. But I’m not familiar with the Sotheby’s authentication. Your other post asked why he would accept my best offer. I don’t know. Apparently he bought it for $300. I’m just trying to do my investigation because the seller wants me to rescind the negative feedback I left for him on eBay.

The photo means it was in a catalog apparently 30 years ago. It means nothing now. It is a forgery. Leave his feedback.

Hey Eric good morning!! Do you think he will get his money back for an ebay auction?

Thanks guys. I know I won’t get my money back. I just couldn’t file within the time frame because I was busy sending to PSA, etc. Wish I would have saw this site/post before bidding. Oh well. Lesson learned.
