Greetings-
Hope this finds everyone healthy at this time. I'm posting here for the first time. I've been a collector for several years and a "lurker" here for awhile. I have wanted to post for quite awhile and thought that I would jump in now.
Recently I have come across this mid-1950's Braniff Airlines ticket envelope signed in pencil by James Dean. I pulled the trigger and purchased it. It's quite large with the envelope measuring 7" x 7 1/4" so the signature is a generous size. It came from a respected source who had purchased it at auction several years ago (which I was able to verify).
I shared it with our administrator Steve C. and he was favorable as to it's authenticity (thanks again for looking, Steve). I also did the PSA QUICK OPINION and it came back "likely authentic".
I thought I would post it here as an exemplar as it's a Dean that is in pencil, rather than ballpoint or fountain pen as most of the ones I have seen. It looks to be a quick signature. Hope this is of interest.
Sincerely,
(another) Steve
