To Greg,

I really like your posts that are signature studies, you are knowledgeable. However, you referred to me as "Pet" in your reply post a few pages back. I get your insinuation here, and it offends me. I have no favorites nor am i partial to one site or one dealer vs another. I will however support the site or dealer that i think is honest and trustworthy. And when I see BS in another site, i have no problem calling it out and sticking with the site who is of that same opinion. I think you have made enough enemies on this site, i dont think you need to make another one. Ill give you the benefit of the doubt on this one and hold my tongue, but i think its best if you dont comment on any of my posts and i will oblige by doing the same from here on out with yours.

Chris

Oh ok, i can see now. The way it was worded seemed like it was attacking me, i didnt think to look that was another member. No problem. I apologize for the mixup. I overreact sometimes to quickly when i think im getting attacked. I need to cool my temper. Feel free to comment on my posts if i make any, i thought from the post that you just didnt like me and therefore we shouldnt communicate, but i just misread things. Thanks for clearing it up Greg.

Sincerely

Chris

Chris,

It's so easy to get things mixed up here! Especially when the reply nesting is so deep that members can't respond clearly to another post. You're given me an idea...

Everyone: When you want to reply to a comment that's so deep you can't do it directly, paste the member's name and comment into your comment, highlight, and click the quote mark button (4th from right). That will tell everyone what you're replying to.

Chris,

Pet Slin is in this discussion, too, and if the nesting gets too deep you can't reply directly...sorry! I assure you, Greg's being straight with you.

I see the confusion and will try to get a new handle,

pet

No need to change it.

It sounds plausible, maybe probable. But remember, Elvis most likely did basically the same thing.

This "signed" LP (the product of some guy in nothing but underwear in his den of course) seems to sell but not really sell on eBay every couple months.

eBay continues to let this seller, angelinajis1, formerly americanidols1989, an account that had nearly 2000 feedback, sell this junk.

I've emailed eBay about it and explained everything. The facsimile signatures, the dozens, maybe hundreds of scarves Elvis never touched that they sell. Do we accept these "Chall" PSA Heston's, "Best Wishes" Jackie Gleason's, and Elvis forgeries + lies will stay on eBay and continue to sell no matter what?

There's another thread for blown autograph opportunities in person but I don't think there's one for things you maybe should have bought but didn't. This one involves Elvis so I figure that I'll share it here.

This was my most recent one. It was a signed Elvis promotional 8x10 for RCA on eBay. This was probably back in January or February. You see the pictures he took for his shoot as his first promotion at RCA fairly often. It was signed on the back in pencil by Elvis with a one word inscription (either "Thanks!" or "Love". I used to have the item saved in my exemplar library which doesn't exist anymore so I can't remember exactly). The 8x10 was encapsulated by PSA and it was a very authentic signature.

What really drew me to the item was the amazing condition of the promo picture. That's very rare for that item, being one which was signed. It must have been signed and then put away carefully for decades before PSA encapsulated it. The price was $1,500. They already put $200 into it with the authentication and encapsulation. Nice early pencil signature on the back of an almost pristine, famous Elvis promotional photo.

I watched the listing on eBay for ten whole days. I was there in the final seconds, thinking whether I should bid or not, I ultimately didn't for a number of reasons. It didn't sell. The seller had said in their description that they wouldn't list it again if it didn't sell now. They never did. In the right environment, even on eBay, it could go for closer to or over $2,000. Or it could not sell again, but I think I'd buy it!

I'd be really surprised if that wasn't genuine. I haven't been following this discussion that closely, but I've seen a lot of no question Elvis autographs with that P. I need to read this entire discussion sometimes to see what you mean.
Good story. The one I should have bought but didn't was a letter Billie Holiday wrote in prison to her boyfriend. What always gets me is this line: "Thank God Momma is dead, because if she knew where I was it would kill her."

Greg,

When you have a new thread in the discussion, start it at the top so people can respond to it directly. I can't respond to your question.

The entire company gets it.
