Is JSA considered a “final word” or are they just “okay?”

I don't think there is any "final word".
I know what you mean. But would you be satisfied with their LOA?
If it cost money i wouldn't. Try tossing a coin.
No. I can think of no entity or individual who has not made multiple errors. Anyway, I totally avoid anything certed. More fun (and less money) to hunt in the wild and do your own work instead of paying maximum value for an example possibly damaged (stickered). Just my .02.
Totally agree with Eric. My sentiments exactly. A man of wisdom.
A while ago i questioned an autograph authentication result from AutographCOA. They said" you might have better luck elsewhere, try Becketts. It's just another form of gambling.
I had an experience seeking an opinion from someplace (which I rarely do) where I was told "...you might know more about this then we currently do...". I trust myself. Thanks for the kind words Michael. Ir's just more fun to pay $49 for a vintage signed Bowie promo, no? :)
Who wants a slabbed autograph, anyway. Worse than stickers. I'd sooner spend my money on a prince and Michael Jackson signed photo for €19
To say an autograph is unlikely to be authentic is not an argument. I think this Autograph is unlikely because of AB and C, is. Anyone can say yes or no. It's easy money and a con.
Listing reasons for rejections would reduce submissions from the folks paying attention (the minority) and thus some revenue.
Debating TPA services is redundant. Love them. Hate them. They are what they are. Every collector decides what level of importance a TPA certification is for them. As long as a person is satisfied with what they own what does it matter? TPA services is more of a marketing tool for sellers. It makes an autograph more "sellable" to a larger audience. Just my opinion.
Joe, you are right. An Autograph with a recognised coa is more sellable. I don't think that is the question. Would you buy an autograph based on someone's opinion or would you do your own research. Would a coas sway you if you were undecided. How much importance do you give a coa when coming to a decision to buy
