The tour started in Trenton NJ on October 13th and lasted less than a month. 21 games in 3 weeks, It was reported over by November 11th.

This did not pass Becketts quick opinion

However, I am not confident those quick opinions are read by the companies premier authenticators. I've had results come in in the middle of the night in the past, and not sure who was working for them yesterday (Sunday evening)

ACOA has 10-12 sets of eyes and you can ask questions - try the first option there and see if it merits more.

Thanks, I may end up doing that, although they tend to charge the same as the other TPA's which will be $300-400 in this case (their $20 service is only for live online auction listings now)

Is this right.....$300-$400 for an authentication? I'm not a sports collector so was not aware of that kind of a fee. Is that what all of the TPAs charge for someone like Gehrig?

I think Gehrig is a bit of an extreme in charge, but yes that's what they are charging, 300 or 400, and that's without any fees, shipping, insurance, etc

Wow. I'm primarily in interested in older film personalities. I've never submitted anything personally to any of them, but notice on RR auctions that you can purchase a letter of authenticity at usually $75 or $100. I wonder why the difference in cost?

PSA charges $300 plus shipping both ways to authenticate Gehrig. So, it would end up close to $400 when all is said and done. I would recommend you try Beckett on a quick opinion first although I'm not keen on the quality of their QOs myself.
