I'm researching this signed card. It appears to be an early forties Shirley Temple signature as Honorary President. It was never issued. Have anyone seen one of these before?

Joe, I have never seen that card before….I have seen a fan club card when she would have been a child……A couple exemplars for comparison…..looks like approx 1946.

Thanks, David. I appreciate your reply along with a time frame. The signature is live ink and certainly appears authentic. I've tried to research her International Fan Club information but little is to be found.

Maybe Shirley signed stacks of these and then they normally went to the active president's desk for signing...but this one didn't make it that far.  Then again, it seems an International Shirley Temple Fan Club would have been more of a reality in the mid. - late 30's before she aged out of little girl roles.

I've seen the 30's Fan Club card which was much fancier than this one. I can see the club lasting into the 40's but, what bugs me, is there is not any info on it that I've found yet. I also assume, like you Etienne, Shirley signed many of these in advance and some went unused. Although the signature looks spot on I sure would like some verification if the club existed in this period of time. I've owned this for many years and recently rediscovered this piece is my closet.

Inquiring minds want to know!

Don't know...but interesting.  Yeah, I would expect the 30's fan club probably did have a fancier, even art deco type font.

Maybe a different fan club but in the 30's. She signed those as well.

Fantastic photo!
