Mob$ter,

You can't sell in discussions, sorry.

Thanks guys

no it is not for sale

this is one of my favourite items from my personal collection

Terrific item, wonderful film.  Congratulations on owning this.

I was going to reply earlier to this one but electronically tore my response up when seeing the other responses...didn't want to contradict too much.  But, seeing the reconsiderations, here's the essence of it:

IMHO," Davis" is wrong in the "B" as it looks to be an attempt at her earlier version of that letter.  Her later years version was usually much more rounded.  "D" just plain looks odd.  Last name, usually the first "e" is thicker and second "e" is thinner...reversed here.  If real, this would be a shakier post-stroke Davis signing. Too neat, precise and baseline straight to my eyes.

"Price" here has some sharp lines in the "V" and "P" and the other letters look like they've been run over by a truck.  You could chalk it up to not much room to write on that shirt...but I'm not so sure.

"Lillian Gish" is missing the little dots above the two "l l"s....she may have omitted them on occasion, but it would be rarity if she did.  Also, her handwriting here looks more like a possible post-stroke version of her name (she hadn't had one) than Davis's real post-stroke versions.

"Ann Southern" is just a messy glop, at least to my eyes.

Hope this is not offensive...just my thoughts.

Great assessment! Glad you chimed in, Etienne!

My Gish, straight from her.

Here is my letter about making the the film. I can't find the scan of her in character waiving to Mr. Maranov (Price) - it is signed "in remberance love Lillian Gish:" I've been to the island and house - but then I love New England.

Another wonderful piece, Eric! I relish anytime I am able to talk about Gish as I find her to be the greatest actress of them all. The Wind is one of the greatest pieces of poetry ever put on celluloid. The days with Griffith all the way to MGM was the greatest output of any actress (IMO) and it was all silent.

Silents "We had FACES!" :)

The showstopper piece from Sunset Blvd. and definitely nominee for piece of the year, Eric!

Meant to say above for "Bette" first name....usually the first "e" is thicker and second "e" thinner and smaller.

Nice signed photos....Eric and Nick!

p.s. I've never had a "real" Davis either.....had one one of those 40's era ones signed by her sister at one time.  Tom Kramer set me straight on her from that era.
