It's true, but he is speaking about the past. He is Clifton Panezich, who went to prison for sports memorabilia fraud. Former minor league ball player. Now it appears he is "telling his story."

This is why it's important to keep the context in mind -- the clip is from a much longer interview where the guest is speaking in past-tense, but it's edited to make it look like he's speaking about fradulent activities he's currently doing. Instagram is a horrible platform for trying to convey long-form information in snippets.

If anything, it's deeply, deeply irresponsible for the host to post something like this without realizing the effect this would have on the viewer (and no, the guest isn't absolved, either -- he willingly accepted an invite to speak on that podcast). When you have commenters who are proactively taking steps to call the state's DA in response to the video, you need to hold yourself to a higher standard.

It's why I qualified the link with the proviso about face value. That being said - and without wishing to know any more about the bloke - it should almost be required viewing for newbie collectors and indiscriminate ebay-users.

How many still operate without sanction?

Absolutely. This guy may be out of commission, but there are certainly hundreds of high volume fake sellers operating at any given time. And they are likely to be cut from the same cloth as this narcissistic lowlife.
