I have been looking for a Bardot autograph for a while but so many appear to be printed that I pretty much gave up. This one appears to me to be "live" but I would appreciate opinions on authenticity:

Looks OK to me but very difficult to tell if it is "live" or not. You should add the photo using the "icon" with the mountain and sun by the way (top row second icon from left).

Here is an in-person autograph from October 1956 that I have that is most definitely "live":

Ok. Thanks for the tip about posting images - I thought posting links rather than images was the "rule".

Yours looks definitely more real than mine but different eras I think. You can definitely see uneven pressure in my example, consistent with human activity - question is, is it the right human? I'll take a chance and will know more when I get it. It's a direct purchase from a serious collector. Beyond reproach ethics-wise but his judgement occasionally off, I think.

The problem with her sig is that its easy to copy

Findbooks: Different ink too of course.

Michelle: I assume you mean reproduce rather than fake when you say copy. I don't think the example I posted would be easy to reproduce or fake convincingly but the later black marker pen signatures would certainly be easier to reproduce.

yes that is what I meant.  Quite tired today as spent most of yesterday waiting for auction usa to finish and the extended bidding went on for 24 hours  and am on a different time scale so cant really think straight today

Extended bidding can drive you crazy whatever the time of day.

Quite.   It just went on and on and..............................

With all due respect, why would you buy a Brigitte Bardot autograph when she apparently still signs through the mail?

Unless you are getting a bargain price from the seller, why not find a photo you like and send it to her along with a donation to her charity.  It might mean more to you, and it would benefit her if you were sending her the money instead of to a dealer.  You could even present it to her that way to increase your chances of getting a nice response.

That's a great thought. I'm amazed she still has the will and energy to do that.

What a trooper!

The thing is that this is a ttm signed photo and if I were to apply directly what would I be getting in return? I'd have to wait for a reply I might not ever receive and, yes, I could get a genuine autograph but equally I could get an autopen, stamped, secretarial or even a pre-print.

The actual cost of this item is very low, btw, but that is not really a factor in my thinking - it is more to do with the ease of acquisition and a trusted source.

BB signs authentically TTM if you send a photo and a donation.  No more trusted source than the source itself, but to each their own.

But thx for bringing it up - I have a photo I've been meaning to send her. :)

I can only find fan-sites - do you have her website address?
