McCartney gifted Beatles autographs, Ringo sketchbook page and letter.

Slightly worrying and concerning. I really hope this family aren’t being scammed.

Perhaps the father should be directed to Roger Epperson or Paul Wane at Tracks. They should be able to answer any questions he may have and give him learned opinion on the signatures. Keeps it very simple and deals with professionals.

It sounds like it goes beyond just an opinion of the signatures. Raul said that the father understands that the signatures aren’t authentic, except apparently that wasn’t confirmed by Ringo. LOL

Yes, I know. It's a complex topic, based on what the girl's father told me. But I hope someone can give him some guidance. I just gave him my observations about the signatures and how to approach Tracks, JSA, Beckett, etc. Thank you.

Am I missing something , did money exchange hands , if not where is the scam ?

Wouldn't surprise me if this was some kind of tax write-off scam. Someone fakes an item (or a number of items), gives it to charity and uses the donation receipt(s) to write down their taxes via charitable donation.

I'll talk to him. Please tell him to join the site. We'll go over things, and arrange a call.

+1

I asked him to contact you on Facebook. I already sent him a message.

This whole thing is unfortunate.

"Am I missing something , did money exchange hands , if not where is the scam ?"

"...as arranged by your family and Ed..."?

The letter reads oddly. The letterhead seems absurd. Doesn't sound like McCartney somehow. Whose hologram and serial number is that? What sort of pen did Ringo supposedly use on the sketchbook page?

Obviously, the 70's Lennon and '64 McCartney are a insurmountable problem in this context.

This is apparently McCartney's current letterhead (note the UK size as opposed to the OP):

Hellen's father told me that a charity is involved, but he doesn't fully understand how the scam works. He only told me that "someone" paid 20,000 USD for the signatures that were gifted to Hellen, but he investigated thoroughly and began to find inconsistencies. Now he knows the signatures aren't genuine, at least that's what I tried to explain to him, but he wants to understand how "someone" paid 20,000 to a supposed charity to obtain the signatures. I really don't understand, and I'm just trying to help him so he can talk his story with someone in the media and get their opinion on the signatures and this possible scam.

Well I find this thread interesting. So someone paid $20 k for some autographs and then gifted them to Helen.  I’m sorry but that doesn’t sound likely at all. I hope that Helen’s father digs really deep and gets to the bottom of this. Who paid for the autographs and more importantly who put the autographs up for sale?
