We got a Cease & Desist letter from their lawyers demanding that we remove this discussion because it was defaming their client by claiming they sold virtually nothing but forgeries:

http://live.autographmagazine.com/forum/topics/does-this-dealer-see...

I told them that we'd investigate and that we'd remove the discussion if we found that it wasn't materially true. Your input is helping me make my decision.

Cease and desist from all three?

From looking at that old thread, it seems at least two of them are represented by the same individual "Angus BLACK." This is based upon that individual responding to a thread about musiclegends, and apparently representing Grays.

It's interesting how they called into question all opinions from the USA. :D

The same people own the two dealer sites and apparently consign to Grays Online.

I now have taken a second look on all three sites. I was looking for autographs that I'm very, very familiar with.

On both Music Legends and GraysOnline I was able to see some signed Iron Maiden. Just to give you a little background, I have been collecting Iron Maiden records and autographs since 1984. I have been able to meet all current and prior members at least 2 times since 1984. I have over 100 signed album with the band from 1980 to today. And I have never seen something like the autographs that is for sale on Music Legends or GraysOnline. (I know that autographs looks different from day to day, but not like these.)

On Cool World Collectables I didn't find any Iron Maiden, so I was looking on their Deep Purple autographs instead. And it's the same with those autographs. They don't look like autographs that I have got in person or other genuine autographs that I have seen.

I'm just curious if it's an american attorney or an australian attorney that have contacted you? Because we know that it makes a big difference.

Australian lawyers.

Just to show everyone what I mean when I say that the Iron Maiden autographs that I found on Music Legends site and GraysOnline can't be genuine. The first picture is from Music Legends site and are supposed to been signed in England 2010. The second picture is from GraysOnline and there is no information about when it was supposed to be signed, but it has a COA from Music Legends.

The next picture is the signed photo that was sent to new members of the Iron Maiden fan-club 1999. I know that not all fan-clubs are sending out genuine autographs to their members, but in this case Iron Maiden was sending out genuine autographs. There are also pictures in their fan-club magazine showing the members signing stacks of pictures to be sent out.

The last 3 pictures are on CD:s that I have got signed in person. The reason why I added the picture of the two Bruce Dickinson solo CD:s, is to show how much his autograph can vary, depending on when and how you meet him.

IF there is anyone that still believes that the Iron Maiden from Music Legends and GraysOnline is genuine, just let me know. I don't think we have to worry to much about the australian lawyers. But I'm sure that they are reading this.

Keep up the Great Job everyone!

Hey all,

this is such a great place to share information and is a credit to the creators, well done to you all.

I have to first start by saying or rather asking "what kind of laws do they have down there in Australia" obviously not real strict laws because on first glance at both http://www.coolworldcollectables.com.au and then http://www.musiclegends.com.au I fell over laughing at what they are able to get away with, then I felt sad and then angry because innocent people are buying clear forged autographs with good money.

Here is my opinions, and please remember i have been collecting for almost 30 years and have well over 290 genuine signed ACDC - Rolling  Stones - Bob Dylan - Pink - Amy Winehouse - Elton John - Sir Paul McCartney etc autographs in my collection. I have worked in the Security Industry for well over 25 years specializing in Body Guarding so i know a thing or two about collecting these types of things.

Let's start with coolworldcollectables.com.au - If ANYTHING in their collection is displayed as authentic then i will run down Hollywood Bvd naked on Saturday night, keep in mid I am 6'3" 325 pounds. None of their signatures appear real, they even got Amy Winehouse wrong - her tail on the "Y" in the real Amy never raised above the mid line of her signature and i have 6 of them to compare. http://www.coolworldcollectables.com.au/sheet-music/amy-winehouse-s...

Sir Paul McCartney found here:   http://www.coolworldcollectables.com.au/photos/paul-mccartney-signe...

Is a terrible fake and the only thing consistent about all of these forgeries is the fact that the same forger has supplied all of the works.

In this one:  http://www.coolworldcollectables.com.au/photos/angelina-jole-signed...

Sir Paul has allegedly signed his name as "Reul" This begs the question - "does Australia not have any laws regulating this type of fraud" ?

In this one: http://www.coolworldcollectables.com.au/photos/the-rolling-stones-s...

I think both Mick and Matt were smokin a little summin summin here. These are NOT like anything I have ever collected and Mick and Keith were always happy to sign my stuff slowly and with care, these are rushed and not even in any way authentic. This site coolworldcollectables.com.au is BOGUS and sells rubbish.

Now moving onto this dude - musiclegends.com.au

I can tell you ACDC is NOT ACDC here at musiclegends.com.au they are all fake the only thing they have in common is they were all done by the same forger. In my extensive collection of Angus and the Boys I cannot find Angus Young signing his autograph like this - Phil Rudd signs his name "Pee" in one of them . Take a look for yourself, you do NOT need to be an expert to spot the crayola drawings of a five year old:

 http://www.musiclegends.com.au/contents/en-uk/d18_AC_DC_Signed_Musi...

Let us move to the Rolling Stones - shall we - OMG to you younger readers - OMG - can you believe this rubbish - since when can Keith and Mick stand to be in the same room as each other yet alone sign with the same pen ? ALL FAKE everyone of them. In  all of my years working with these guys I have never once seen Mick make any type of mistake with his autograph or sign it in any way other than his own handwriting but here at musiclegends.com.au he signs differently in every single one of them even using abbreviations and that is just unheard of.

Now Led Zeppelin - here in the first instance Robert Plant misspells his own name while Jimmy Page was on acid obviously when signing this little gem.  All rubbish and garbage all of them I have to ask the question once more "What kind of laws do these guys have in Australia to let these things pass as real ?"

http://www.musiclegends.com.au/contents/en-uk/d20_Led_Zeppelin_Sign...

Here is a classic where "Slash" from GNR has dyslexia that day and signs his name twice in the same line: CLASSIC FORGERY:

http://www.musiclegends.com.au/contents/en-uk/d16_Male_Artists_Sign...

Even the Pink autograph is a poor forgery. It looks nothing like the real deal and I have two of them to compare.

http://www.musiclegends.com.au/contents/en-uk/d15_Female_Artists_Si...

Ga Ga aint Ga Ga, Katy Perry aint Katy Perry and so on and so forth. They are all rubbish. Again, all compared to my authentic ones I have and I have asked friends of mine who collect to compare for me also, friends in the business too.

From what I can see from this graysonline place - their memorabilia auctions are all supplied by these two sites, so smells like a little "who's in bed with who here?" I though auction houses have a duty to seek authenticity ? I could be wrong but I don't think I am.

So to sum up my findings, in case you could not tell already:

http://www.coolworldcollectables.com.au sells FAKES

http://www.musiclegends.com.au sells FAKES - all FAKES from what I can see

http://www.graysonline.com/ are selling FAKES from these two sites knowingly or even unknowingly but they are all still FAKES and if anyone can prove them NOT to be FAKES I will gladly run down Hollywood Bvd NAKED

The proof is right there in front of your eyes people so come on and get with it. If these people want to defend themselves and PROVE authenticity to us beyond reasonable doubt then "INVITE them to PARTICIPATE right here Steve" We want proof 100% traceable proof of authenticity. Not just my guy who knows a guy who drinks with Robert Plant at a pub. Do you think that Robert Plant would want his relaxing time spoiled by some autograph hunter in his own home town as stated in another forum by "Angus Black" NO HE WOULD NOT - that is why they employ body guards to keep away trash like that.

So invite these owners of this site to participate and let us see what they have to say - let them defend these allegations that what they sell is garbage.

Again, "what kind of laws do they have down there in Australia"

Frankie,

That was superb input...thank you! I think that your modesty and the residents of Hollywood have nothing to fear.

IT IS A FEDERAL OFFENSE IN AUSTRALIA TO USE THE AUSTRALIA POST, POSTAL SERVICE TO SEND FRAUDULENT ITEMS. it is a govt owned service and may be an avenue worth pursuing.

If I can get assistance from some experts in the trade, I will launch the proceedings and file complaints from here in Australia, but I doubt my word will cut the mustard somehow!

here is a link to an article published in the Herald Sun about a forged painting sold on graysonline.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/entertainment/arts-books/cross-my-hart-...

Thanks Steve, much appreciated. Just trying to help.

Why don't you send an invite to these people who run these sites asking them to join us for a discussion. I would love to know where they obtain their little gems from that they claim are real and authentic. Can anyone tell me how these bandits are getting away with this ?  and what we can do to help the situation ?

I mean seriously, this is my personal fave:  http://musiclegends.com.au/contents/en-uk/d16_Male_Artists_Signed_M...

ha ha ha "Slasash" sorry not funny but tragic that some poor person will probably buy that for their son or daughter without realizing it.

LOL they removed the link... they are watching, and I hope they are getting worried, her is the reply I got from Graysonline.

Dear Paul,

Thank you for your email.

So that I can look into this matter for you can you please forward me any evidence that you have that the signatures are not authentic and confirm the invoice numbers for the lots that you are disputing?

I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

If you have any further enquiries, please don't hesitate to contact us again.

Regards

Cathy
