On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

I can multi-task

Obviously, you lack he common sense to understand what both DB and I have been saying. Figure out how to use your "research" properly. Now that the pathway has been outlined. Take your agenda hat off and let the real experts of MJ autographs handle the situation. Remember your often used claim, you are "not an expert".

Hmmm wonder why your typical "we don't have a problem with any of Global's NASCAR items" is? Ohhhh!!! That's right, you only use that when it serves your purpose. Nothing new there.

DB, myself, and any member who doesn't follow into line n this thread will be "bashed" as typically happens in your "breaking news" threads. It's ok, I knew how you would react.

Still you never look at he big picture, did either of us claim any items here or at Julian's were good Or bad? Nope, DB was overly attacked for showing curiosity. Curiosity which in the end, actually shed more light on the situation.

Two fair points which you FULLY are aware. I don't work "for" anyone. And finally, DB is far to smart to be "used" by anyone.

This situation reminds me of the Farrah Fawcett stalker who came on this site. She attacked a dealer whom you don't like. You instantly "fell in love". That's sort of whats happening here with these legit fans who are toeing the line.

What's funny is that people like me and DB are the non-MJ experts who you will need to convince. Until you do, we can have open minds. What are you going to do when people just say " oh, Cyrkin is simply attacking a former advertiser ( Julian's)? I hope your "research" speaks for you before you condemn people who simply seek more info.

In 2009, Michael Jackson signed Julien's Auctions catalogs prior to or during the April 2009 exhibition at Robinson-May in Beverly Hills.  Julien's Auctions sold these for purchase prior to his passing, as well as in the auctions held after his passing and they sold for close to $7000. The description for the auctions say "A Michael Jackson signed ...."

Comparing the two above which Julien's Auctions has labeled and accepted as Michael Jackson signed -- maybe having been signed right in front of them -- I am having a hard time understanding how the current auction autographs hold up UNLESS they are indicating that the ones on their catalogs from 2009 were really signed by Miko Brando???

The current catalog does not say "Michael Jackson signed..." nor does it say "Signed by Michael Jackson." It just indicates that the paper or clothing has "Love Michael Jackson" on it.

nice autographs!

i wonder if Juliens will run with this wording get out clause.

it would be less hassle in the long run if they just come clean and issue a ridiculous statement like Michael Bush in a drunken stooper one night accidently signed all the outfits for a giggle.

staying silent and ignoring people that genuinely can see that the autographs are not MJ's is making it worst.

... but then again Bush would rather be pigheaded and throw away 20 years of friendship than admit the truth.

*disappointed* :(

Another one that Julien's described as "A Michael Jackson signed..."  So let's assume that Michael Jackson sat at Julien's, or maybe in his car or home, and signed 50 of these back to back. I think his signature stayed pretty consistent and looks like his authentic, and not questionable autograph.

DB, Brandon:

It's obvious that your disruptiveness in this discussion is intentional. You both said you don't know anything about the topic and don't care. I was going to suspend you for the time being so you wouldn't post in it, but the site is undergoing maintenance at the moment so I can't. Nor can we send emails until maintenance is over. Please do not post in this forum again until you have communicated with me via regular email or PM.

Thank you.

.. under instruction from Juliens perhaps to "muddy the water" ?

all this fighting is lost on me.

DB is not under instructions from anyone. I think he is acting based on things he's heard.
I am sorry but I will be going out of town for a few days, I hope to return on Wednesday November 28th but I will get to this discussion as much as possible while I am away. There is still time to make something happen and to show an educated, well documented argument as to the question of authenticity of the Michael Jackson autographs in the upcoming Julien's Auction. This has to be handled once again Professional an not with any agenda or claims that can not be documented.
I would have to say that as of now the Miko Brando story is no longer an issue, as there was 3 days, to see or hear and proof or an explanation. Now we can just start to stay on track with examinations and examples of Michael Jackson's autographs including all known variations.
I as the lead autograph authenticator for P.A.A.S. "Professional Autograph Authentication Services Inc." will make our first statement of many to come on the autographs in this discussion.
If there is any disagreement I would love to hear from you.
I think it would be important if the other Autograph Authentication Companies or professional authenticators, such as PSA/DNA, JSA, GA, PASS-CO, ect. and individuals opinions by John Reznikoff, Roger Epperson, Richard Simon, or any other professional authenticator to express their opinion on the signature or signatures in question. This should not be political and it should not have anything to do with your personal opinion of the company or the authenticator. The more professionals that agree and have the same opinion the stronger the fight and argument of the case. Please contact all professional autograph authenticators and request an on-line examination then post their statement or opinion.
Some may request a small fee, I am doing this free of charge and it is to help the autograph community.
Michael Jackson signed "Epic Records" 1981 The Jacksons invitation;/Via Scan;
Not likely to be genuine: Our authenticators believe that the item, if physically submitted to P.A.A.S. for examination, would likely not receive our certificate of authenticity. It is the professional opinion of P.A.A.S. that this signature is not authentic.
**Please note this based upon a scan. The only way to truly examine and authenticate an autograph is to physically examine the signature, the ink and the item that has been signed.**
Thank you,
Michael Frost
P.A.A.S.

yes thank you Michael.. thank you everyone..

how does this all work ??

do PAAS submit to JA?

Thank you Michael , I also contact an expert 3 days ago, I expected this news, i hope to have principally made ...

Mike when you get back in to town can you please address this issue.  YOU said that the examples of Michael Jackson that I posted were NOT authentic.  YOU tried to embarrass me.  When I posted the source was from RRAuction you were silent.  Please clarity your 'professional opinion.' Or can you admit that you have no clue about Michael Jackson autographs?
