Could this 'signature' be Jim Morrison's regular handwriting?

See the 'J Morrison' centre top of the photo below, which I have pasted above a sample of his handwriting. Anyone think the 'J Morrison' at the top looks similar to the handwriting below it?

The 'signature' is from a 1st edition hardback copy of Jim Morrison's The Lords and the New Creatures, published by Simon & Schuster in 1969/1970. I just photo'd it and pasted it above this handwriting sample for comparison purposes.

i just gotta say that jim's signature flat out drunk might be different from a sober one. i love jim but drunks don't have the best penmanship especially not knowing people would be bickering about it 45 years later. why don't you just pay $15 for roger to check it out? then we will all know. he is after all the autograph god.

I'm not saying the signature is genuine, but I know from experience it is possible to lose control of a pen during the writing process on a raised notebook which can sometimes affect the look of the writing. A forger would know there are not 3 x r's in Morrison. Have you ever tried to write your signature quickly, repeatedly in quick succession? I have, and sometimes they go 'wrong'.

'An authentic signed by Jim copy of The New Creatures sold for $7000.- on June 24 2014 at Sotheby's…..' That's a really good price because The New Creatures is even rarer than The Lords & The New Creatures, as it was self published and only 100 copies printed.

The price of the book would be very telling. A seller of rare books would surely know the value of such an item.

An unsigned 1st edition hardcover copy of this book sells for around $150 - $450 depending on it's condition. I paid $2000 four years ago. I have no plans to sell it on.

If this is a forged signature, I'd be surprised if it was done by someone who is the seller of rare books, with an established business. He'd be putting his reputation on the line, surely?

I see there's a signed copy for sale at James Pepper Books selling for $15,000. There's no photo of it on the website. I've emailed them and asked if they would send me a photo of the signed page (for curiosity only).
