Man I hate buying GA stuff but this one actually looks decent to me. Thoughts?

I know the exact Cobb you are talking about. I believe it was a picture signed and the picture wasn't even him. It recently was sold AGAIN on eBay of all places by a well known reputable seller.

I was shocked to hear you weren't in Cooperstown this year. You have a lot of "hof 14" stuff already.

It amazes me how these well known reputable sellers who have 100, 500, 1000+ positive feedback are selling this crap.

I bought the HOF 14 stuff from TriStar, Fanatics and Steiner. I already had a Thomas ball from a Chicago Sun Times a year or two ago but I'm trying to get every ball with the HOF inscription. That's why two Koufax's among others. I passed on the Torre photo because I want one signed with him and Giuliani. I stay as far away as possible from Coop during induction week. It's tough to find a place to park to use the post office or CVS. My wife grew up there and her brother lives in a small town just outside of Coop. Plus it's a zoo with the kids out of school with the Dreams Park. Tons and tons of kids.

Even though I enjoy meeting most of the players the problem with getting them at shows is you don't get a hologram which I need for insurance. Sometimes PSA/DNA or JSA are at the shows but you know how I feel about them.

If you go to Coop when the kids are back in school you would almost never know that the HOF is there. It's a small town with one stoplight. Of course there are tourist all year but it's one hundred times crazier when the kids are out of school.

I am aware of the controversy surrounding that Cobb photo. I do not have an opinion if it is authentic or not. But I can tell you people sign the "wrong photo" all the time. I see it frequently in my area of expertise (space and aviation.) Someone mails a photo of an astronaut in a suit, and even if it is not the person in question, they will sign it. I have seen astronauts rolling through photos and not even paying attention to what they are signing. I have seen people sign portrait photos of other people.

Would Cobb sign a photo of another ball player who bears a strong resemblance? I don't know. Maybe someone mailed it to him and he just signed it and sent it back. The analysis should be based on the signature. The fact that the photo is of someone else proves nothing in my opinion.

I've seen players do the same thing rolling through photos and not paying attention like the astronauts. Then there are players like Gaylord Perry. I got a few cards signed for a guy on another website and Mr. Perry was looking at the back of each and every card. I guess you never really know.

Ditto!!!

What you got, is beat like a Red-Headed Step Child. That ball is a complete MESS. JSA or NO. How about something that look like these??? Why did you have to be Impatient Eddie, Nicky? Do you see ANY resemblance to these balls? I didn't think so. At least you are "THRILLED" NICKY to get that horrendous ball for $150.00 LOLOLOL. I am thrilled you got drilled. Enjoy my handsome friend~ ?

Ha! I'm happy with it at my price point. I'm sorry to hear you aren't.
What are your thoughts on this one

It's a tough call. I don't really like the o into the u. But I've seen so many variations.

You are very welcome. Congrats on the ball. Only one person has to like it and that's who owns it.

I don't know how far along you are with your collection. I collect HOF'ers in all sports. All of my graphs come from in-person (IP) show signings or from companies that do shows/signings that I'm not able to attend, Steiner, Mounted Memories (Fanatics), TriStar and UDA. I'm one of the people who does not deal with any of the authentication companies. I don't have any players who passed away pre 1990 since the companies I trust were not around. If you need to check out any HOF'ers for authenticity I'll post a link. Again, congrats on your new ball.

Thanks Rick. Wish I could do more in person stuff but work doesn't allow the time commitment. Totally worth the money though as the experience really trumps all. You have an amazing collection. Some really great pieces.
