I had some questions for the community about my John Lennon White Album autographed

photograph.

I'm going to get in touch with Frank Caiazzo and see if he did the Loa on this Lennon autographed  picture.

Assuming he did and it's authentic: Does the rushed Lennon signature negatively effect the value of the piece?  Since it's signed on a photo of Lennon from The White Album, would I have any trouble reselling for more than the money I spent on it, eg; will it appreciate in value over the years?  The seller is asking $4, 750.00 for it.  Is it worth the money he is asking for it or should I wait for something better? If I wait, what Lennon item could I buy

for this money?

Thanks for your input.

I'm not seeing a picture here.
Ok, never mind. I see the previous discussion.
First off, I would say that the Lennon signed photograph is way over-priced IMO. $4750?! Check out the results of this Leland's auction. There is also a pic of the item below.

Look at that beautiful inscription and signature, along with even a couple of doodles. I would much rather have that gorgeous signed book and all that goes with it, than that boring old un-inscribed photo for almost $2000 less!

Thanks James,

I really wanted an autographed picture of Lennon. I have nice autographed pictures of the Paul, George and Ringo and his pic. would complete my collection. Plus the seller is letting me do an

8 month lay-away on the item which is the only way I could afford.

Auction houses don't do lay-away-LOL! So, I'm looking for a pic/auto of Lennon that I can put on lay-away. What do you think?

Ok, I got ya. I understand the lay-away concept myself. I haven't actually specifically done lay-away, but I've fortunately been able to find sellers who were willing to give me a few months to pay the item off. Right now, I'm in the process of buying a JFK signed and inscribed book that the seller let me pay $750 down plus $2450 more in a couple of months. And I wouldn't have gotten my dream Babe Ruth ball if it weren't for a seller willing to work with me. Eventually, I'd love to have a Lennon or at least a Paul McCartney.

So, yes, it makes total sense that you're wanting a Lennon signed photo. And I would imagine that a signed photo of Lennon is pretty pricey. And if you're putting out that much money, you want to be darn certain it's authentic. You want to also make certain that it's not a copy. And without having it in front of you, it's hard to tell for sure. I have four real signed Madonna items. But I also got burned on a couple of others Madonna photos that turned out to be copies. The signatures were spot-on, but after I got them, I could tell they were fakes. It was hard to tell though.

That's one good thing about a company like PSA/DNA. If they have it in front of them, they can tell if it's a copy right away. I would almost be tempted to tell the seller, hey look, we've got plenty of time (8 months). And tell him that you'll pay for the PSA fee no matter what the result, but see if he'll send it off to them while you wait.

Thanks James,

Yup, I have to do lay-away. The seller has sent the items to PSA already because he knows that the PSA Loa's help to sell his inventory. So that will be done for me.

I'm sorry you got burned on the Madonna's. Yikes, that hurts.

I've got to run his Frank Caiazzo Loa's by Frank himself. I need to know if he Loa'd them

and his signature was not forged on a copy of a  Frank Loa.

This Lennon signature is starting to trouble me. It's rushed and sloppy. I've seen his signature "cuts"/cut out of an autograph book (usually) going for just under 5 grand.

They are better example of his signature though but no picture.

I'm sorry to hear about your dream Babe Ruth slipping away from you. That stinks!

Oh no, David, fortunately, the Babe Ruth drama played out okay, and I got the baseball. So I was very happy about that. Of course, regarding the bad Madonna's I got, I will NEVER, of course, put those back in circulation. Of the four authentic ones, I may sell two of them, but those fakes died with me. I would never try to do to someone else what that cheater did to me!

Regarding your Lennon, I really don't think its that bad looking. Yes, I've seen better ones, but it's not dreadful or anything by any means IMO. Plus, you'll have a nice photo of John. And a signed photo is obviously much nicer than a signed cut.

Thanks James,

I must have mis-read your post. I'm glad you got you Babe Ruth ball. Those are so

sought after. I read somewhere that a real one cost many many thousands of

dollors. So, you have a treasure. It's really good of you not to put the fake

Madonna's back out on the market to cheat someone else. It sounds like you bought several at a good price to resell them for a profit. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm glad you like my Lennon. I'm getting a lot of negative reviews from the community. Some say it's fake, while others don't like the signature. They say it's

ugly. I have to make sure that the Loa from Frank Caiazzo is real before I buy it.

I already asked the seller for it. I'm waiting on his response.

Frank once wrote an article on Beatles autographs in Autograph Collector  Magazine...and he priced a Lennon signature on a piece of paper at $2,000-$2,500...and said if the signature was on a photo...simply double the

value to get an idea of it's worth. The thing is...if you want a Lennon....you're going to have to pay for it.

He's not just a rock star anymore...he's become an historical figure.

Well said Jim.

Has the Beatles autographs gone up since you started collecting Jim. I Myself am a relative new collector and David is as well.

How much should I expect to pay for a Paul McCartney signed photo, Jim or Paul?
