Roger Epperson not advertising on this site any longer?

I was going to ask him about checking out an item for me but now I do not see his Signed Sealed /Delivered ad any longer. Anyone know what is up with that?

Sounds like zeppelin thread 11.

i have been told that after debate,S.Grad understand your mistake that the autogprahs are from different eras and said that they were ok

Roger just decided not to advertise. He didn't say why, but I know that he's not participating in the site because it's tiring getting attacked all the time.

I've had a policy of letting people like whoever Keith Smith really is on this site who I think are obvious members of the forgery industry. I do that because I want everyone to learn to be wary and observant and watch out for disinformation and other things that don't add up. I'm thinking about changing that policy.

Go to Keith's profile and look at his activity. You'll find posts that make sense and ones that are obvious disinformation.

Is there a way to flag accounts or have some sort of flair or something? Had I known his intentions were malicious I would not have replied.
He is tired of those anonymous cowboys here. So I understand why he thinks it isn't worth anymore to post here. Easier to be said than done though to filter them out.

Steve I agree that you should re-think the policy and kick all the known forgers OFF the site. They don't provide anything helpful and they probably learn how to correct their mistakes from the advice of the legit members.

I would almost be open to a paid membership on this site if it meant (1) Forgers wouldn't be able to come on the board unless they also paid for the membership, which I doubt many forgers would want to. (2) You could get people like Roger who are experts to give their opinion and maybe pay them a little off the top of the membership, but would give more incentive for him to come back on here and would drive more business to using him for certs and such. Just a thought.

Paying adds a layer of complexity that poor Steve doesn't need. It is an interesting idea though. I think this site just needs verified badges or something so that we know who to take seriously and who to ignore, and yes, anyone caught forging autographs should be IP banned.

Roger said that Steve Grad did not see the Led Zeppelin set when Michael Johnson submitted it. The LOAs and rejection letters have printed signatures on them. As PSA/DNA's lead authenticator, most go out with Grad's signature front and center. Occasionally I've seen other authenticators in that spot, but I don't know why and I don't recall the dates on the papers.

If Grad said he didn't see it then it doesn't bode well for PSA who must have examined and opined on a $10,000 item without their lead authenticator or apparently anyone of musical expertise seeing it.

Bob Eaton used to be on the PSA letters, he is not anymore since the RR case.  I've also seen Joe Orlando's signature from time to time.

Either way its a shame to see Roger leave, but I do believe this site has many knowledgeable music collectors who share their opinions and help others on a regular basis.

Just to be clear, the LOAs and rejection letters contain printed signatures along with a hand-signed signature. I still suspect that the Led Zeppelin LP would have passed if not for the rushed Jones signature.

They all do?
