This could be a fun thread, hopefully many members share their nice graphs!

Here’s my favorite: A vintage 10x8 promo photo, very nicely signed by Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band members Clarence Clemons, Max Weinberg, Little Steven, Roy Bittan and Garry Tallant.

Happy Holidays to all :) Good wishes for 2022!

I don't think any purchase I made this year can top what I learned about my Gloria Swanon SP -  shown in the film and with the title of this Academy Award winning film written out by its star and both dated the year before the films release. I must scan the original still I have from the unused ending - also dated 1949 and quite rare.

This added layer of quality and value was had for the price of research (fun!).

I had fun this year with my purchases. I will post one each from the world of music, film and sports. I had a bunch to choose from but really like these.

I asked Jason from Tracks a while ago to locate me a Paul McCartney signed to Nick, finally got one.

I always wanted a Garbo but prices were astronomical until recently when her checks started to be released to collectors. The stamp hinders the piece a bit but the price was a steal. Michaels did the framing.

I am a huge 1919 Black Sox fan and was able to acquire the ringleader of them, Eddie Cicotte.

So here are my highlights. First, a copy of The Doors Unhinged signed by John Densmore. The Doors are my favorite band so it's nice to finally have something related to the band's history. Second, a poster signed by a reigning NBA champion, Giannis Antetokounmpo. Thanks everyone!

Besides the obvious one I mentioned a few weeks back, I've been very lucky on a number of fronts, both in terms of random thrift finds and online marketplace purchases for autos. There's a few items that I haven't mentioned here that I found earlier this year and value highly, though I haven't spoken about them before.

First up is Canada's answer to Alex Haley's "Roots" - Lawrence Hill's "The Book of Negroes":

The story behind this one was interesting, not just because first-edition, first-printing copies of this book are so rare (they generally start at $150 USD and up for a flat-signed copy) due to being printed numerous times, but the copy of the book I obtained is particularly interesting due to the fact that it included a handwritten letter from the author talking about the value of the book to a local school system here in Canada:

I acquired this book at a Value Village in a city I'd never visited before, and saw a copy of this book sitting in a display case at the front of store. The copy I purchased was found on a shelf in the fiction aisle, in absolutely immaculate condition. When I went to checkout, the attendant asked me if I had seen the copy in the display case, noting that it was "one of two" books signed by the author (written from the reference of the other person, in this case, two teachers) in order to get the city's school board to promote the book. I did not go to look at the other copy, as I was more than satisfied with what I purchased. You would not believe how difficult it is to try and find (a) an attractive copy of this book, with (b) the author's full-name signature -- he only signs in initials these days, and (c) anything more than his name written on the page.

Truly a grail find I cherish, and one of my best fiction signed book purchases.

Secondly, a couple of big finds I scored back over the summer:

Two copies of Robbie Robertson's "Testimony", one U.S., one Canadian, edition, found a week apart at separate thrift stores.

And the other grail find - the "book tour" version of "A Theatre for Dreamers" with the exclusive "consolation" prize:

I've got a couple friends who are extremely jealous of this find, but for $50 from a U.K. seller, I couldn't pass it up. I had hoped that Samson would have made the Canadian stop on her book tour, but it was cancelled like the others, so this was the next best thing. The novel was a really good read, too.
