Hi, I would like your opinion guys, J.S.A thinks is fake. I sold in Ebay this and the buyer is returning this to me. Looks real to me.
Thanks

Hi, thanks, is it possible, that because this item was signed on the upper left corner, she signed this while the magazine was bent?, is like when Trump signed signs, without the advantage of being on a desk ,
I'm sure a few others will chime in. Let's see what they think.
Alfredo, it's signed with a calligraphy-type pen that people I don't think can be reliably authenticated without a number of Earhart signatures using similar pens. Everything from letter shape to size to flow can be affected by those pens.
One thing that really stands out to me is that the difference in size between the small letters and large ones is less in your example than her typical handwriting. Earhart's small letters tend to be quite small compared to the large letters. Could that be because of the pen? Possibly. But possible is not good enough in authentication.
I don't think that most honest, knowledgeable dealers would want to sell yours to their customers. I think that refunding your buyer's money is the right thing to do. Asking for opinions in this forum shows that you're ethical and says a lot about you.
Thanks
unfortunately this does not look like her signature to me
Thanks!, but What if she signed , while standing, and the magazine’s corner bends? Thank you.
yes I refunded the buyer.
thanks for your nice comments!
Al
Unfortunately, "what if's" does not fit well with authentication. All anyone can do is compare the signature with other known examples.
Got it.
thanks!
